Default In LS1 harness- looking for correct VATS bypass wire

19 PNK PCM Ignition 1 Feed

This is off a 98 harness, is this the correct one to cut and splice for the VATS bypass?

All the pinouts are here.

Sorry i dont know the right wire; but an alternative would be to use the orginal bcm from your car. Im using my 98 v6 bcm with my 01 ls1 console harness; everything will work fine and you have the extra security of know one being able to start you car.

I am using my V6 console harness, and V6 BCM. I thought if the PCM didn't match the BCM then you need the bypass?

Nope; the bcm just gives the pcm the ok to start. The bypass is needed if the bcm does not match you key/ignition. Hope you get this thing running soon; saw pics of your car in another thread, its going to be an awesome car.

Oh, so I don't even need this bypass.

Thanks

So you're saying that you have a bypass box that you don't need.... what do you want for it?

It also has dual o2 sims built in, so I will still be using that feature of it.

It's a Baker Electronics model.

A better name for a vats bypass would be a vats module. The pcm needs a 50hz signal from the bcm to allow the injectors to fire. If you didn't have a bcm you would need something else to provide this signal ( vats bypass). You will need the fuel enable signal from your bcm to you pcm to start your car. The fuel enable wire is c1 (red) pin 11 dark blue in color for a 98 PCM.

We just took the easy way out and set the value of VATS to FF(turned it off) in the programing

Note: thanks to John at Speartech and Mike at E-tune.net for figuring that out
