Great project man good luck with it. And good luck in the service. My father fought in Operation Dessert Storm, not relevant but I have a great respect for the vets. I hope to one day join before it's too late.

Check it out, 9 months in and nothing more completed than destroying a perfectly good Camaro, and flushing $$$ down the drain. See, I can see the future, and it involves a scrap yard.

One less fbody is hardly a loss, no offense to anyone that has one, but I don't get the impression that there is a shortage of f-bodies anywhere. I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that it's rather difficult to work on a car while deployed overseas.

Starting to get settled in, and just got hot with internet in my cell It was the high point of my day to see some chatter on my build thread.
And it is so true..... I work every day, but it ain't my car. The distance is a real killer for progress. I'm deciding to just let everything sit (including my $$$) 'till it's time to head home again. Working on my car is always a great way to wind down when I return.
I'm in Jabad this year, running the maintenance for my Shops Platoon. We deal with Engines, Transmissions, Hydraulics, Avionics & Structure Repair for OH-58's, AH-64's, UH-60's & CH-47's. 4 days into it and nowhere near set up yet.....and I got the feeling it's gonna be a busy year.

I don't recall how I originally came across the topic, but the Gallardo AWD set up is rather simple. It's the front differential that's interesting. From what I understand certain years aren't a computer controlled piece and the mounting is very simple. It would seem a custom driveshaft could make it usable.
They've also been proven to be quite strong seeing what those twin turbo Gallardos have been doing lately. It is also a very compact piece that would bode well for limited space up front. The hardest part would be incorporating it into the front suspension.
Best of all many of the Underground Racing Gallardos have the AWD system removed and the diffs are sold for a lot cheaper than you may think. If I remember correctly, I read about UGR getting rid of them for about $1,200.

Differential (Note the simple mounting bracket)
Here's a thread where a guy actually talks about them. Scroll down some and you'll see the image above. There are also different diagrams of the Gallardo if you just google "gallardo awd differential" under images.

8 pages deep and little to no progress seen. I'm all for DIY and doing crazy, out of the box ideas but if you are going to make a build thread try to post more on your own thread than user comments...
