5.3l/4L60E into 87 Silverado
I'm helping a guy install a 5.3 LM7 & 4L60E combo into a 1987 Silverado Reg Cab Short Box. Drivetrain was installed already by some of his friends, then they got to the wiring and were like ..so I was asked to check it out.
Engine & Trans is in there and mounted, what Headers are you guys using in these trucks? Stock Drivers Manifold clears with some play room, Passengers side with EGR doesnt clear the frame. It doesnt even look like that one without EGR will fit..I've seen a few of these trucks done so I figured I would ask. Thanks.

Hey Merv and ls1tech fam. I used jba shorty headers. i had to notch the frame on the driver side. (2) other friends of mine installed factory headers and they bothl had to notch the frame on the driver side. when you find a set that clear let me post to inform me.

Essentially the same thing. Non-egr manifolds do fit. Tight, but they work.
