Cut a hole in the hood!

Did you ever do a mock-up with the harness installed? I'd like to see a good example of how to really clean up a truck motor for street rod use.

Chad,

Sorry to chime in so late but for bonding the Nylon 6/6 look into the Loctite or Plexus adhesives. You'll need to check the charts but there are adhesives that will hold to the point that the nylon will tear apart before the bond fails. At work we use adhesives on numerous plastics bonded to various metals with excellent results.

For bonding nylon (AKA polyamide) to nylon look here on page 34. http://www.exdron.com/Specs/Loctite%20Plastics.pdf

For bonding it to metal you'll need to do a bit more research but the materials are out there.

Ken

NO , they should be properly prepared and fiberglassed.

They shouldn't be bondo or fiberglassed, should be plastic welded with the same material.

I would only use a shaved intake or a mild NA motor, certainly nothing on a lot of spray or boost.

Spray would be fine, and boost...well, I wouldn't run a lot on my intake, but I'm sure it would hold up to 10 or so PSI without protest.
