Yes to boost.

If you plan to run on pump gas only 8:1 doesnt seem too terribly low since you are boosting it. Of course that depends on boost and the fuel being used. Same rules as any other LS would apply I would think, except the cost of failure is slightly more expensive

You guys have a horse power goal for this thing yet? No need to get all antsy about scr or boost until you decide that

I assume you're using the steel LS-7 cranks, not joining a cast crank will be durable. I'm a crankshaft guy, we'll make you a crank you can afford (with correct firing order)

Bolting together a stock crank. Said it's 'trial by fire'...

I think they said the previous ones cost close to $12k for crank/cam. If you don't mind estimating a price what do you think one could be made for?

I have a V12 that looks like a LS...does that count...and it's in a Corvette???

Nice work guys-

As far as electronics- do take a look at Megasquirts new MS3Pro- it can do full sequential fuel for 12 -however only wasted spark for 12 -but at $1300 retail- anything else w/ sequential is a LOT more.

My current build is a V12- but from a BMW -that I've added ITBs and dry sumped it. It's relatively small - at 5.4L but has 10:1 compression...and weighs in right around 500lbs..and about the same length as a Big block...

I was originally looking at a LS motor swap...but everybody was doing that...Thought I'd be different and go w/ a V12...but you nailed BOTH of them!!! Excellent!!!

Richard

The build-

THANKS- I'm running a Richmond 6 speed...took a BMW auto bellhousing- milled it down- welded on a ½ alum plate to fit the Richmond(same as Muncie bolt pattern)...Then used a 850 flywheel- drilled and pinned it to fit a Chevy clutch... And a BMW pilot bearing fit with just removing a few thousands off the input shaft...
