Got the Forecore 50 wires in today. Nice quality. Glad I went with OEM length which Bob said is actually ~1" longer than factory wires.

Tim (Gray86hatch) is coming down next week to lend his expertise in building a set of headers like he had on his beast. In the meantime, I have been making an attempt to make sure everything is right so we don't run into any problems.

I could see that the upper U-joint On the steering shaft was going to be a problem so i took a look at Tims pictures from his build thread and noticed that his steering shaft, from the column, was a lot shorter than mine.
Tim's:

Mine:

Tim let me know that the column end could be pushed back into the column. I put the manual rack, U-joints and shaft in about 20yrs ago and either wasn't aware or had forgotten but I was able to shorten the column end four inches.

Thanks to Tims advice, I have a new shaft and a compact U-joint (Sweet Manufacturing) on the way which altogether will give a ton more clearance.

Tim told me, when I was trying to buy his mounts and headers, that it's such a tight fit and there may be slight differences in the car, they have to be built in the car. I think I'll hang on to these.

BUSTED! No, it's 1/4". After building mounts and beating the hell of the tunnel I still needed more room to get the transmission in so I broke down. Thought about raising the tunnel but pussed out. Good eye BTW. Had to lower coilovers 1/2"...j/k!

Nice work on the headers!

Also, I realize this is a little late, but good call on doing a double sheer mount for the trans crossmember.

Finished welding up the 3.5" mid pipe. It and the headers tuck up under the car better than my old Kooks headers and 3" X.

The Magnaflow mufflers are temporary. I'll be trying to fit Dynomax Ultraflows but they will have to be at an angle.

I'm sorry but this Team Z K member is way off from putting the engine where it needs to be. I know I'm doing a lot of custom **** but the basics are not being met. The engine is too high and too far forward PERIOD.
subscribing......very nice build! And that's disconcerting to hear about the TeamZ stuff

I'm still trying to fit the Ultraflows in there but will be close to driveshaft.
