This is how my car is sitting now. Since the headers were close to the bushings on the Team Z A arms I sold them and bought a set of adjustable arms with heim joints which will be here tomorrow.

Got the HP installed and moved some wires around in the harness to fit my engine better and now working on the baseline tune that Tim hooked me up with.

Put the new Team Z A arms in. Much more room for the headers.

Time to get back on the transmission/clutch. Since I'm using the Ford T56 and custom bellhousing Bob sent me a clutch fork, adjustable pivot ball and throwout bearing to mock-up and measure for flywheel and clutch clearance and clutch fork to bellhousing clearance. Bob let me know that the measurement from crankshaft flange to pressure plate fingers for the dual disc Ram is 3"-3.050" so I have to come up with a way to space out the throwout bearing and clutch fork from crank flange.

I cut a piece of 2" pipe to a length of 3.039" to act as a spacer, and put it over the input shaft and put the trans in. The spacer ended up on the crankshaft pilot bearing lip which is .300" tall. That shows there is plenty of space for the flywheel and dual disc clutch with the clutch fork and throwout bearing.

Got the exhaust welded up. I wanted a full size muffler and because they are 3.5", only center in/center out are available and space is very limited, I had to cut a corner off passenger side muffler to clear the driveshaft.

Thanks guys. Now to get the driveshaft, clutch, and flywheel, then a few nickel and dime parts and it should be ready to fire.

Got the Pro 5.0 shifter handle, GT 500 leather ****, all the harnesses and Strange slip yoke. The Strange pinion yoke is backordered, so whenever it comes in I can measure for and order a driveshaft.

Eventually I'll be upgrading to Wilwood brakes but until then I have manual brakes with 11" disc and drums. This week I went through the brakes since its been sitting for 10 yrs. and replaced wheel cylinders, MC, ceramic pads and flushed the fluid.

dude this thing is awesome! I started reading on page 1 and saw you had the ford t56. was super interested because these seem to be cheaper than GM units atleast around these parts. was this a FMS 5.0 swap aftermarket unit? or a cobra trans?

Thanks man! All I know is it's a TEUT-11011. Driveshaft is being built this week then all I need is the clutch and I can start thinking about firing it up.

I had to open the hole in the tunnel to gain clearance getting the transmission in and out.

I surprised myself with the sheet metal work. Guess I'll put a couple of screws in it to hold it down.

Killer build man! I'm helping a friend do a restomod build on his '79 Cobra. I tried to convince him to go LSX but he wanted to keep it ford. Oh well, he'll just have to get used to my tail lights!

Can't wait to see your car up and running.
