Default Fox with gm 6 speed question

I'm putting a ls1/ 6 speed in a 92 coupe. I'm using AJE k member and tranny cross member. It looks like I'm going to have to cut out a good part of the trans tunnel to clear the tranny. Has anyone else ran into this problem? Thanks guys.

I read somewhere if you run the engine mounts backwards it will be at the shifter hole.

I had to hammer my trans tunnel in a few places with my MM k member and engine setback. If you have a 2.3 auto chassis the trans tunnel is smaller to begin with than a T5 chassis.

Default Tunnel clearance

I did not hammer or even touch the tunnel, I cut the unused "ears" off the top/front portion of the trans case and I lowered my K member with 3/8's aluminum spacer plates that I made because I wanted to get the trans tail shaft as high as could to make the power train sit as level as possible and it all worked out perfectly. I don't much care for the look of the motor leaning back and the header collectors pointing to the ground. The extra room has the motor sitting lower and the hood clears an Edelbrock Pro Flo XT.

Is that a Stiffler's crossmember?

Yes, I don't recommend it either. The side to side mounts are not welded to the same angle and the tab for the mount is needlessly welded in a strange downward angle, I will cut it off and reweld it level, other than that? It's good.

The aje cross member I have looks to have some adjustability forward and backwards. And I have seen dirty dingo motor mounts have some adjustability forward and backwards as well, up to 1 inch.

I used an aftermarket extra long 1310 GM 27 spline front yoke for the Fbody T56 , a 1330 to 1310 conversion u joint, a `99 mustang driveshaft with approx. 2 inches removed (to 43.5") and it has about 1.5" clearance when installed.
