hey i care...
i would get a transfer case out of a 99 up truck with a 4l80 in it so it bolts right up(a floor shifted t-case not an auto track one), then you would just have to adapt your driveshafts, t-case linkage and maybe mod or swap the crossmember. i am not sure how the front diff lock works on the 99 up 4x4's, but it is electric like the 90 and im sure it'd be easy to figure out.
maybe use a pcm and harness from a 99 up 4x4 truck with a 6.0 and 4l80e, you'll obviously have to adapt the harness to the truck, speartech could hook that up. i think you would need to do some work with the VSS to get the 90 speedo to work, not sure about that.not to mention the obvious exhaust, fuel system, etc.
sounds like fun, do it

Your '90 burban has the driveshaft on the passenger side, Right? right. A '99 truck has the driveshaft on the drivers side. I would try using your stock np208 transfer case. A 4l80 is a th400 with OD. If your 1/2 t-case doesn't work you may need a 3/4 or 1 ton t-case. A good junk yard may be able to help. good luck.

Yeah, sorry, I didn't realize the speed sensor is apparently built in the 4l80e. It would probably be best to call a place like Advance Adapters and find out just what is needed.

You can also get an np241 out of a 89-91 suburban or k-5 blazer and it will have a much lower 4-lo than the 208. Both are good cases. You will just have to change the input shaft inside the t-case. But that is no problem BC you can order it for a newer 93-99 old body k-2500 with a 241 and you will be good to go.

You can keep the rear speed sensor in the transmission to controll the pcm because the 208 and 241 both have the pickup in the rear of the transfer case. 1990 was a split year though and some had cable speedos while others had electric. If yours has cable speedo you can retain it bc the transfer case can go either way depending on what parts you put into it.electric will be the speed sensor and reluctor wheel on the output shaft, mechanical will be the gear on the output shaft and the gear on the speed sensor but the tooth number of either will change bc this determines speedo accuracy.
