LS1 & T56 into a 81z-28 Hi everyone I'm new to the website.I've been working on installing a 2001 LS1&t56 from a wrecked formula firebird.motor and trans. are in the car know but still having trouble finding a drive accessories to clear front stabilizer bar and tie rod ends.The 81 will not have a/c so front cross member will not have to be notched.Trying to use the stock power steering pump that remains in the stock location on the 01 ls1.Anything out there that relocates the alternator up above .I have seen many conversions done on 67-69 camaros but the steering components are behind the front craddle.

1982 Camaro Berlinetta, originally LG4 305, TH200C 3-speed auto. I bought it to put the 55k miles 2000 Camaro SS LS1/T56 that I had already purchased with plans on putting it into my other 1982 Camaro Berlinetta. Picture is from the eBay listing (dog not included). The PO apparently took on the restoration of the car as a retirement project, then when 95% done (all but engine) decided to donate it (which is how I came to get it). Never met the PO, but the donation operation guy said what they told him is they bought it in '85, the wife drove it to work in the Bay Area until they both retired in 2005. Had 304k miles on the original 305 when I pulled it Feb '08 to start the LS1 swap.
Mods to include LS6 intake, A.I.R./EGR deleted, ceramic coated Stainless Works 3rd gen LS1 swap headers & dual exhaust, LS7 clutch/flywheel kit. 7.625" 10-bolt with 4.10 gears, Eaton 28 spline posi, aftermarket axles, support cover, disk brakes. Fuel tank from 2001 LS1 f-body. Aftermarket gauges, programmable speedo and fuel level, mechanical oil & temp, switchable tach.
One mod it already had was the Class III 2" receiver hitch and trailer brake controller.
Install is progressing, hope to have it running by the end of March.

71 Firebird Hello, I am building a 71 Firebird. I am going the budget LS engine route by installing an 03 Tahoe engine in my bird. I just bought the engine on Ebay a few days ago. Should have it by next week. Thinking I am going with an automatic tranny for now. Nothing to radical-just something fun a drivable. Tim.

95 firebird with 00 ls1/4l60E. pics soon. speartech did the wire harness. i got a 00 ss that was hit in the rear and swaped out the motor, k-member, wire harness and sold the rest of the parts! i wished i keepd the 6speed lol.
I'm undertaking at least 4 LS swaps. Possibly 6.
