Mike-
Love the new wheels and tires black is the way to go! I'm sure it's nice to have some grip on the *** end too. After the holidays we need to have another get together and tear it up!

Cool project. Thats funny my 70' had almost the exact same rust problem on the rear pillar only on the passenger side. Can't wait to LS mine as soon as I grenade the blown 406, the new 6spd and 4.88 butt gears should help me reach the goal! Keep the updates coming.

Time for an update. I had a leak from the back of the trans so I replaced the tailshaft seal. I think it was worn in on the stock yoke and but I ended up using the TH350 yoke that was already on my driveshaft.
I also took the exhaust back out and welded in V-Band flanges at the collector. Then I welded up the x-pipe to try and eliminate leaks. I still have clamps at the front of the muffler so I can easily swap between the magnaflows and bullets.

Finally got time to get the new Borgeson steering shaft installed. Did a little driving and it feels good. A little more steering/road feedback, but no vibration. Also cleared up a lot of room near the alternator for those doing LS swaps and need more space. I had ground the side of the alternator down and was worried about the alt going bad out on the road (750 miles each way to Chevellabration) and not being able to easily swap it. The shaft needed to be cut down 8.25" to make it 18 3/4".
Parts:
Upper U-Joint: 1-48 x 1 DD (214352) Aluminum
Lower U-Joint for GC box: 1 x 3/4 DD x 3/4-30 (214931) Aluminum
Telescoping Shaft: 1 x 24" Extended Length (450024)

Any update on the c5 set up. Are you going to run Kore3, I was until I see the cost just to run the e brake set up I will be running the same set up. I am working with a company that is mod the ls1 backing plates to work with the c5 z06 to have e brake set up. I should have everything in a couple of weeks. I will post pics and let everyone know who they are once I know everything worked out well.

Pulled the rearend to get some work done and start the C5 brake swap.
Plans are:
Axle tubes welded
1350 Pinion Yoke w/ Solid spacer
1/2 Studs
New bearings and seals
Disc Backing plates
Possibly a Aluminum driveshaft and 1350 front Yoke and joint
I dropped it off at the shop and we'll see if the posi needs work. Might have to get a trutrac instead of the driveshaft for now. I should have it back at the end of the week and start installing the brakes. In the mean time I have a bunch of other projects to finish.

Working on finishing up some sound deadener and got a new radio. The drive to Chevellabration would be hell without it. Gotta call the rear shop and see when I can get it back, have yet to hear anything.
Can't decide if I should run a center console and build a mid section under the dash for the radio. What do you think?

I think that will look good stealth. It is a bit large of a gap to fill though are you planning on a double DIN navigation unit? Another Idea could be to move the gauges you have above there down into that piece. Also, what will you do about the floor vents?
