Default Picture of my installed ls2 water pump

Painted it with silver exhaust paint. You can also see the pulley has been pulled out 3/8". Heater ports blocked off.

Default Heater ports blockoffs

Where did you find them? I need a set.
BTW: Nice work. Did you paint the tensionors on the block?

Thanks

A tad lighter and it had a nicer looking flat face pulley.

yup plus the thermostats are only $20 for them, not $50 like the ls1 pumps.

Does the pulley have to be moved the 3/8"? I thought it was a direct swap.

It does not have to be moved for Corvette pulleys, only F-body ones. Not all LS2 engines use this pump. The GTO uses the LS1 style pump, as the accessory drives are of the F-body style and spacing.

Doesn't plugging the heaters hose create overheating problem. I remember reading here that The coolant has to circulate.
I could be wrong.

It would seem to me that unless the heater water control valve has an internal bypass (anyone?), that plugging the heater lines would be ok.

the shaft must be different too. If you look at an ls1 pump the shaft sticks out further from the waterpump housing than the ls2

I've been running my heater hoses "looped" for over a year (the heater/AC stuff is still on the bench) and my temp runs perfect.

We use these little U hoses on all of our shop engines. I think that would be better than capping the ports. I think the water needs to flow for the thermostat to react properly.
