Nice setup!

I'm hoping for mid 10s out of my TC-76 5.3L build. Should be reachable, the car has mid 11 second power now with the 9.5:1 compression 5.3L + BIG heads I already have. Seeing what your setup does gives me some hope that my goals are reachable.

People are always in such a big hurry to buy the lastest and greatest speed parts that they totally overlook the potential of the parts they have. How does anybody ever know if the parts they added are doing anything if they don't know how far the removed parts can go?

Yep I intend to find the limit of the stock 5.3 or get kicked off the track trying

Yes I agree! There does come a point when safety comes into play though...

i agree Frank, I'm not arguing that point. But I see people adding parts before ever "fine tuning" their combo. They are happy if they see an improvement but have no idea if the stock part could have yeilded the same result. I was talking with some buddies the other night about the driveshaft i'm going to need. I was eyeballing a stock rear mounting hub from his 8.8 driveshaft, then somebody said "your gonna trust that with 800hp?" hehehe, point taken

I cant wait to see your car around the streets Hows it coming along? Who does your welding and stuff? I might need someone down here in sfl to make my merge from my truck manifolds to the turbo, wastegate plumbing, intercooler piping, ect... This is very far away though. I cant find one clean notch 4cyl/roller for sale in south florida

I like the S400 turbos. should make plenty of power for you. Hell, I can't wait to get it out on the streets > As you can tell I do my own welding. It ain't pretty but i'm not entering it in any car shows. Pick yourself up a nice little 110 volt Lincoln wire feed MIG welder and get cracking. It's easier than you think. Good luck finding a somewhat "clean" coupe anywhere. They are like hens teeth anymore. I don't want to ***** up Neil's post anymore so back to the 9 second STOCK 5.3 truck motor.

parish - thats a hell of an ET for the mph you ran. Was it blowing thru the converter or what? Do you know the 1/8th mile stats of that pass? A buddy of mine just went 6.38 @ 111mph in the 1/8th with his MP T70

I am gonna try but I don't thing I can get the car to 60 hard enough to do it .... That is where you guys have me beat is on the awesome 60 foots the fairmont does. Next year once all the new winter suspension upgrades go in I think the car should leave hard but for now high 1.4's is the best it will do. We will see what oct 4/5 has in store for me.

PS.... Don't forget I am doing this at a track that is 2700 ft above sea level.... punch that into a correction for sea level and see where it gets it?

that 76 more than makes up for the extra 1700'

yes our converter is junk it flashes to ~5400rpm, suppose to be a 3400 with 600ft/lbs. we shift at 6200 and i think it only drops to 5800 or so. our peek tq is at 5400 but might actualy be lower since we cant see our numbers below that rpm. 1/8th mile et was 5.99 on that 9.49 run but i cant remember the mph. the car does 60' like mad. our 60 was 1.30 or 1.31. i am not really sure why it works so well. we bolted on some parts under there got a tape measure and figured out the center of gravity, made a few adjustments and then forgot about it.

Ya over winter I will be changing alot in my rear suspension, the car made 5 passes over 140 mph last time out so with a good launch it should be fast.

NOTTA ......... Car ran awesome but couldnt get it to hook, it was drizzling on and off all day at the track and made a bunch of hits all around 138-141mph but all in the 10.0-10.1 et range thanks to garbage 60 foots.

Should I throw it on my dyno and see what it makes on 18 psi or leave it alone and pull it out still running LOL.

this was your last chance at the track this year? kinda sucks, the dyno don't mean squat, ET / MPH tell the tail. But i would still be curious to see you dyno it at 11psi, 15psi, 18psi..............then who knows ..
