Hey guys,

at the moment I'm planning parts lists and so.

I'll get a 1998 LS1 with stock ECU and a T56 for my Monte Carlo 79.

Which wiring harness I should get? I'm a noob when it comes into these things and I don't know much about stuff like that.
I looked on ebay and found this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=170476710397

What do you think about that? This will work with my project??

LMK,
-Kevin

Nice setup could you elaborate on the specifics (ex.Parts -8/-6 ....) not trying to steal your setup but that is similar to what i'm looking forward to running? Thanks for the response.

I did........trashed them. I switched to Edelbrock motor plates and Moroso solid mounts. Could'nt get those damn things to line up for nothing.

What are some great front suspension g-body mods?

Thinking about doing a C4 front and rear conversion...

Has this been done?

I run one of the wilwood kits up font and it works great. C4 kit is good too. Hop on montecarloss.com/communityforums and you will learn a lot more about this topic. What are you looking for suspension wise. I dropped mine approx 4" with belltech 2" drop spindles, moog 5660 springs cut 1 coil. Then replaced sway bar links, inner and outer tie rods, center drag link, idler arm (all moog) and cheap shocks whic I will be replaceing with Bilstein HD's here shortly. Rides Great.

what is everyone with truck engines doing with the alternator and bracket? I am trying to figure out how to mount my alternator lower and have everything line up. I am not running a/c or power steering. Will the truck alternator bracket allow the use of a stock hood or is a cowl hood required?

You can use the stock mount and flat hood on a cutlass, malibu, and el camino if you use a f-body oil pan and mount the motor as low as possible. Not sure if it clears on the rest of the models.

With Spohns frame mounts bolted to the frame and the stock F-Body style clam shell engine mounts bolted to the engine, the engine would not line up if
either side had the through bolt installed. In other words, the motor would be off by around 1/2".
