Default f body headers and column shifter?

I'm running some cheapy China fbody headers and the hole collector is stopping the shift linkage from moving. Has anyone run column shift with fbody headers and remedied this? It's a 1983 Chevy el camino

Anyone done a Turbo 5.3 in a G body, or am I in the wrong thread?

Look into Lokar products, they have a lot of cable adapters for column shifters. I'm using midlength headers on my 87 Monte and was able to bend the bar a little to still work the trans. I'm pretty sure long tubes would not have worked so you may need a cable one that will have more wiggle

What have you guys used for the quick connect fuel fitting at the intake? I want to do something that looks like it came from GM, and not have 14 blue and red AN fittings to get it to work.

I have one in process, and I have seen a few more in threads around here. Its on hold at the moment, needed some time to fix some broke crap on my mom`s car and I`m prepping a couple snowmobiles for winter.

Answering about the column shift hitting the header. I had to slot the bracket that holds the cross linkage on the frame and move that up away from the header. It is also on a elcamino with f body headers

what mounts did you use, no clearance issues it looks like with the stock hood and the truck accessories

I made mounts from 1/2 aluminum plate and used the factory clamshells. I have to run a cowl hood, because I mounted the engine high so that i wouldn't have any a/c compressor or pan clearance issues. I'm running the stock oil pan. For them most part everything went smoothly, but I've done a few pretty involved lsx swaps, so this is a cakewalk. i have to heat up the drivers side header (fbody) and bring it in closer to the trans and down to allow my column shifter to fit and i'll be done.

You power steering pulley will clear the steering box if you put the motor in the right place. just build your own brackets for the motor so you can place it where you want it, not where someone else wants it.
What do I look for if I order the compressor from Sanden direct to get the correct head? You say it can use the factory hoses? Monte hoses? Aren't they a bit long cause the stock compressor location was on the driver's side....?
Thanks

Everything clears fine. I'm going to do the same swap on my 87 beater el camino minus the a/c and I mocked it up and it all fits under the stock hood. I'll get pics at my earliest convenience

Can anyone tell me how they have done the wiring and sensors for the air condditioning? I have a dark green wire on my cuttlass for compressor clutch activation. Are you guys using this and a ground with the appropriate plug to run the lsx compressor? Are there any sensors that need to be wired up? Sorry I'm not very knowledgable with the whole ac system.
