Do I need a corvette steering set-up with an 1980 elkie ls3 swap? I can't afford the engine right away, so I'm going to do everything else first.... Suspension, interior, front brakes, ect. And kinda a silly question but... will an el camino exhaust mate with a ls header or no.... And does anyone have pics of the American racing nova rims on an elcamino? Or even the hurst rims? Tire rack doesnt do.justice to the actual look of the rim on the car.

Default Ls1 w/ air...down low

Guys, I've been trying to get info on how to setup my a/c system. I have an 87 SS monte that I'd like to mock in the a/c compressor down low in it's stock postition.

I know I need a fixed displacement pump but can anyone verify if a trailblazer one will fit? Or what other options do I have? My Motor is out of a 98 trans am. Thanks in advance

Josh

Default L31 wiring harnes into Regal bulkhead

I need help figuring out how to connect the L31 engine wiring harness to the Regal bulkhead.

I'm not sure how to handle this part of my swap.

I want everything to work, I really don't want to cut a lot of wire.

FYI, I bought a Dakota Digital Dash that I plan on installing at the same time I do the wiring.

Take a look on gbodyforum.com

They have information regarding the underhood wiring in their engine swap stickies.

There isnt any way around cutting wires. You will have to at minimum splice in Ign and 12V+ to your new engine harness. Not a big deal though.

Not personally familiar with the dakota digital, but my auto meter tach needs to be set on 4 cyl for ls use.
As far as the harness goes, you don't need to really integrate it all into the bulkhead. I did a tpi swap myself once with that method, was also a pain to remove for my next upgrade. I let someone modify my ls harness for me 10 years ago. It has add on fuses , relays & vats bypass. Not really harder to hook up than a stereo done that way. 8 wire hookup to vehicle, extras are right near computer.

Default L31 swapped into an '86 Regal

What's the best way to find the right headers for this application?

I'm wanting to basically clear the firewall and not be in the way of the oil filter....Shid, clear everything.

Has ANYONE ever done this swap?

They are just sbc headers. Check out some g-body forums and see what they are running.

More than likely, yes.

They screwed in fine on mine... just not sure which is pressure hose & which is the return hose. I hope I don't have 'em connected backwards

Yes, the bends will need a little massage to fit nicely but threads are the same

Default 5.7L Vortec 350 in G Body Regal

Is the Fuel Pump sender from a '97-'98 C/K 1500 the same height & fit of my G body Regal?

I'm thinking about getting a truck fuel pump sender to just drop in my tank... will it work right?

The truck sender is not a dop in piece for a g-body tank. You can buy a drop in sender from racetronix.

Any cheaper options?

Like, would something for a grand national work?

$189 is a bit more than I want to spend.
