Some people just mount it on the wheel wheel under the hood like factory. Personally don't like the look. Matter of fact I don't even want to see the PCM. Yet still want it easily accessible. I'm going to either relocate the horns that are mounted inside the driver side fender to the passenger side and place pcm there where the horns used to be then make a cover to hide it, or I'm going to mount it inside the car behind the dash somewhere. Might be building a center console from scratch so directly under the dash where the radio is could be an option hidden inside the console.

Is anyone running a column shift in there g-body? I have an 81 malibu and I want to retain the factory column shift when I complete the ls1/4l60e swap. I would like to run a set of headers instead of the factory manifolds, but I don't want to have to beat up the primaries or collectors. Is there a header that actually fits properly? Would I have to modify the linkage if I just go with the manifolds?

You have to modify the linkage when using the BRP headers if you want to be able to shift manually into first gear - the lowest you can go is second befor the lever hits the header

You wouldn't, by any chance, have pictures of the modification? BRP headers fit otherwise? I really don't want to have to dent any of the tubes. Would I have to modify the linkage if I went with manifolds?

What do I do w/ my speedo cable on the 4L60E?!
Also, I'm looking at buying a Dakota Digital Dash for my Regal... how would that work as far as sending and receiving info to and from the engine sensors and trans?

Below are the finsihed headers and a shot of how far they hang down to clear.

Those headers are nice, did they duplicate the bends needed to make more upon request? Would be good for them(sales) and other gbody people that want to keep column shifter.

Unless you request your mock-up back they disassemble it and keep the reusable parts.
I Used John Bs mounts though so that may not necessarily be an issue if you want to go custom as your motor placement and areas to clearance will vary from mine unless you have the same mounts.
