@greenturtle05
Gbody tank and Bbody tanks are way different in size and filler neck location. Gbody filler neck is off set.
I would have just purchased a 94-96 Impala ss fuel tank, sending unit and pump for your caprice swap. Tank is a direct swap over. Or any 90's bubble efi fuel tank for that matter. Should even be able to get fuel lines from a Bubble caprice/impala or roadmaster since they share same frame too so you can put those on your box caprice.
Got it canceled before they started processing it. Will be placing order on racetronix site later.
Also need to place order for some braided fuel lines.

I've seen a few G-Body LS-engine swaps and wondered aboout the location of the corvette fuel filter/regulator. few got them installed at the front crossmember location right next to the motor and a few others got them installed right behind the fuel tank. looks like the location doesn't matter? really?? I mean difference is a much longer fuel return line...
and what brakelines will fit with the c5 corvette LS1 steering pump and the monte steering box?

Place it in the back and you got two short lines from tank to regulator, then just one long feed line to rails.
Not sure what pros/cons are of placing it in either place though besides the $$ on fuel lines.

Easier access to filter/regulator with it in front?
*shrugs shoulders*
Cause everyone seems to mount them up near the tank in the back. Takes lil more effort to access I guess.

Fuel tank just got here.
Placed order for sending unit with pump and harness kit from racetronix
Purchased Fuel filter/Regulator
Purchased 98-02 LT pacesetter headers from amazon (cheapest place I could find with free shipping)
Purchased Carshopinc 1in setback plates
Still need 2004+ truck intake fuel rails (returnless rails)
Fuel lines
Fittings
to tie up the fuel system
Anyone have a CTS-V oil pan for sale?
About to go double check my radiator measurements and order a double pass radiator.

Project just came to a stand still.
Opening up the block and discovered this so called rebuilt block, has never been rebuilt.
Cleanest thing on this motor were the heads and new head gaskets, rest of the engine looks like it has well over 90-100k.
Don't know what to do right now. Placed orders for a lot of parts past few days, so pissed might have to hold off on this swap now if me and this salvaged yard can't come to an agreement on this situation.

i want know if i can use a 700r4 out of a 1986 astro van. if so theres a wire thats in the place where the speed cable is. is that the vss? do i have to use a after market speedo?

pretty sure that trans shift via a cable on the throttle body,so you can probably get rid of the vss and use a gear to drive a gear driven speedo,or use the vss to run a electric speedo

I went through this whole thread again, so I missed it or there isn't much talk about gauges.
To run factory speed/Rpm gauge you need some B.S. that cost like $400 correct?
Then depending on which Auto Meter guages your taste buds quench for that's $400-$700 for all the main gauges you need- Fuel/Volts/Temp/Oil/Speed/RPM. Which should all be the electric gauges.
Then you got Dakota Digital. Right now they have two options for Gbody.
There first gauge cluster.

Now they also offer this one.

What is everyone doing? Can you post up pics if possible.
If I go with Auto Meter I'm trying to work up some nice ideas to incorporate turn signals, high beam, gear shift indicator to make it look somewhat custom/still factory looking then the normal slapped in gauges with two light in there for turn signal. Ya know that somewhat street car/track car look.

Looks like I have about 40 pages to cover to get caught up on what everyone else is doing for their swaps. I recognize a few names from montecarloss.com. I am just in the beginning stages of my swap. Got a 6.0 LS2 paired with a beefed up 4L60E im dropping in the 86 MCSS. Right now the car is nearly unrecognizable due to the frame being off for body mount repairs. I am hoping to have it all done by next year at this time. We will see though.
