I can test fit them on my setup if people are interested. I currently have 1 " setbacks. Turbo setup as it sits is easily removable.

I know I would really appreciate it, and im sure others will also. It seems like the new hooker headers are the only ones that dont drag the ground, but I dont really want to drop the money on them if they wont fit.

Good afternoon fellas

I have a few questions regarding the LS Swap going in my 84 Cutlass. I plan on doing a simple carb conversion rather than going efi. I have a few questions regarding cams. I plan on running comp cam (54-416-11) and I'm not sure what other upgrades should go with it. Should I upgrade the following: push rods, lifters. rockers, valves and springs ? If So what would you guys recommend ?

Also, any other cam for a stock 5.3 (00 5.3 from a tahoe)

Cam -

I just bought a 1987 Monte Carlo project car that someone started the conversion on, it came with a 2011 Camaro motor (was a six speed car) and a 4L60E transmission already installed and a bunch of parts!! It has for the most part all the easy stuff done. I have a PSI harness for the combination. I have what looks like the complete fuel system and a dirty dingo ac bracket and compressor. I'm starting with mounting the componets so I can lay out the harness, the very first thing I started to mount was the throttle pedal that came with the car, no way will it work or will I be able modify it to work, its from PSI (part #ACC-1007) GM part number 25835421 (for a corvette). My question is what pedal do I use? Is there a factory pedal that you guys are using? Or something aftermarket? This is the first of what may be many questions!! Any help would be much appreciated!!
Thanks
Jason

Stuck with the Turbo solid mount route and used the trans stuff from the Holley kit (worked well).

I'll send you a list of parts and pics (they weren't cheap but will give you a heck of a deal if you are really interested).

I used a gto pedal in my monte carlo, I had to make a bracket to mount it to the firewall in the stock location, then cut and re weld the foot pad.

Covered quite a bit but was the go-to for body headers prior to hooker and ARH releasing their offerings. I used fbody headers on my cutlass with moroso solid mounts and car shop 1" setback plates prior to the direction I am going now. Some guys can literally drop the damn things in no issue, other folks like myself, had to do some massaging to get them in. I would expect the worst and hope for the best. Worst case, you need to cut the primaries in the passenger side ~90% of the way from the bottom of the tube up (think pie cut but don't cut all the way thru) then bend the whole header over and reweld. Drivers side fit without modification.

I'll post a pic tomorrow.

I ran some of the ebay fbody ones for a little while. I had to beat the ever living crap out of them to get them to fit. I too was running Moroso solid mounts and 1" setbacks. Even then I wasnt keen on how close to the frame they were. But my interference points were the pass frame rail and the lower control arm mount.

Cutting the primaries would have probably been the better choice but I am not setup to weld stainless.

I'm changing the oil pan/pick-up tube on my LY6 6.0 to a 2007 Cadillac CTSV oil pan/pick-up tube. The pan and pick up tube i got didn't have an o-ring when i got it. I hve RED o-ring that was on the truck pickup/oil pump but after looking it says the Cadillac pick-up tube should have been a BLUE o-ring. Im thinking i should use the red one since it was what the original seal the truck oil pumps come with. I need to make sure I have the correct one because I don't want to have to change it out after I install the engine (or even worse damage the engine). Any suggestion would be helpful. TIA.

AFTER MORE RESEARCH IM FINDING YOU NEED TO MATCH THE O-RING TO THE PICK UP TUBE SO IT LOOKS LIKE I NEED THE BLUE TUBE.

I apologize in advance as I may be off topic with such a question. But would anybody happen to know anyone with a 85-87 T Type or Regal with an LS swap looking to possibly part with it? I'm located in Colorado and every T type I've looked at seems to be in poor condition/a rust bucket/or priced way too high for what it is here locally.

The corvette pedal should work. It did on my 83 . I bolted it to firewall using a carriage bolt through the hole the throttle cable used to go through . Do that first , then make a spacer for rest of holes
