I haven't seen anything yet if anybody has actually cut off the bottom of an LH8 pan the 2" that's needed to get it at the level of the crossmember on a 69 Camaro. I am concerned how much oil capacity wil be lost.

Has anyone verified the final capacity after the mod?

I have a rack and pinion setup and the LH8 seems to be the only pan that will fit, it's just too low.

It looks like it might wind up looking like the pan from RetroLSX. That would be good because it's 5 quarts.

Does anybody know his price?

Larry

JZ Motorworks (the maker of the pan that RetroLSX sells) posted a thread saying he sold out to Holley. Is he even selling the pans anymore?

he appears to have been less active on the RetroLSX forums as of late, notably in a topic about/selling his "LHX" oil pans. His phone number is posted on his forum, but I've figured he hasn't replied to his topic, he may not be pushing the pan any more

Holley hasn't released what the cost of the pan kit is going to be yet.

Are they accepting pre-orders?

More importantly, is the pan going to be like their infamous LS intake?

The LS2 pan has an oil pressure relief valve, the LS1 pan does not. They are otherwise identical.

I ordered an F body oil pan today along with the windage tray, dipstick tube, dipstick, pick-up and o ring. I will have all of the parts tomorrow. My lq4 pan is not going to work for my set up. I like the idea of a aftermarket oil pan but I found the new GM parts to be a better value.
