No it doesn't. But it doesn't do a whole lot anyway.

I believe that muscle car LS1 pan that chevellenut71 mentioned is similar to the Holley pan. Can you confirm? We always recommend GMPartsDirect.com to customers. They have the best prices by far.

GMP does offer good prices but they seem to make up for it in shipping and handling fees. I saved almost $50 going directly with my GM dealer. I do have a dealer account and that helps a little.

I'm pleased with my F body pan and parts. The pan came with bolts and gasket. The pick up had the o-ring already installed.

Angry Chevelle trouble.

Hi! Newbie here, been reading posts for a few weeks......installing a GM performance LS376 & T56 into a 65 Chevelle.....i tried using the stock oil pan that came with the engine, it shows up as the LS2 corvette pan on this thread. I was able to get it to fit in the car by notching the front crossmember, but now i went to move the steering and the tie rods hit the side of the pan. I have Edelbrock adapter plates with the short energy suspension mounts. Anybody been in this same boat?
Option #1 raise engine 1"
Option #2 get different pan?
Does the GM muscle car pan work with an a body Chevelle?

Thanks in advance
Chris

Caddy CTS-V?
F-body?
Will the GTO pan work?

Chris, the GM Performance pan does work if you use the stock mounting location on 68-72 chevelles and use 1/2" spacers between the mounts and the LS block. I just got done doing it this morning. If your bringing the engine closer to the firewall,it wont be an issue, but there will be near zero clearance back there. Also, if you go under the stock height on the front end......plan on buying another pan if you hit a speed bump! Hangs low on mine, but sits the same as my headers so i'm good with it. Since yours is a 65, may be the same install info???

I have several pics of the LS1 INSTALLED in my 70 Chevelle if someone can re-size them for me. Shows position, mounts, and lock to lock on the steering clearance using the H3 pan. She's going in for paint Wednesday!!! Wish I had the wiring to have it running before that...but is what it is.

EDIT. Looks like that kit contains the LH8 pan but I am still unlcear on its dimensions when compared to the F-bod pan.

EDIT #2. Looks like it is 2.5" deeper than the f-bod pan. Lots of info in this thread!
This thread has a lot of good info, but I can not determine if the "muscle car pan, #19212593 will set into a 91 Camaro, maybe missed a post on this one. And what oil filter part number does this pan use?

Why did my post question, stop a good 374 post? I just could not determine if 19212593 would do a 91 camaro?

The muscle car pan hangs too low, you need to get a F-Body pan. I looked into the muscle car pan before my swap but determined it wouldn't work..or atleast wouldn't work well.

Another option you all now have depending on your application is our Holley LS Engine Swap Oil Pan designed for retrofitting any of the LS-series family into some of the more venerable chassis' from 1955-1987.

Here are a couple of photos depicting vital dimensions that will be useful for you guys/girls with projects.

Default Oil Pan Swap - fitting over oil filter in truck pan?

I am swapping my truck oil pan and wondered if I need the fitting that sits over the oil filter from the truck pan. It it a screw in fitting and looks like a pressure relief valve of some sort. The new pan is not tapped for the fitting. It looks like none of the new pans are tapped for it....does anyone know what it is for and any unintended consequences of leaving it out?

Thanks!!

It is a high pressure relief valve used in DOD and VVT applications. If you run a DOD or VVT system you need it, if you dont, then you dont. Most the new GM engines run the valve from what I have seen.
