Most likely a modified F Body pan, or a modified VE Commodore pan. Depends on how high or low you set the motor.

Set really high, an LH8 pan may work, but it depends on what trans you are using, how it fits in the tunnel, how far forward the motor sits, and what driveline angle you can tolerate.

HX has front steering, so you are clear to the X member/sub frame. Have heard some section the X member to fit a pan. Depends on the engineer if their is one involved.

I'm looking for a pan which is only 1,8' inches deep at the front, for 13 inches. Where the red line runs through the pan above in the picture

The only thing i found is this one. It's a dry pan and will $4000 by the time i'm done.

http://www.drysump.com/ls1-2.htm

Dose anyone know the dimensions of this sump. I'm looking for something like this one as a wet setup. I guess this a dry setup?

yes, that is a dry sump. I don't have all the dimensions, but I know the sump is about 5 1/2 inches deep. That's an American Touring Specialties pan, they don't make them with external lines at the front of the pan anymore. All the lines run internally, and connect up to the supply and evacuation lines at the standard LS7 location (right side of pan).

If you go to the Conversions section and then go to the search feature:

Type in E30

Shazaam!

This has been done several times.

Default holden oil pan

Where can i get one of those oil pan, i have been looking all over the internet and can not find any one selling this oil pan. From the dimensions listed at the beginning of this thread it would be perfect for my conversion project.

Thanks, Jean-Marc

The oil pan most LSX swap companies use is the 98-02 F-Body in the 58-64 B-Bodys, both BRP and S & P recommend it for the swap and it will clear with the OEM front ACC with the GM kit not sure about the S&P though…

Also John does SDparts carry PN 19212593 yet? I know its on NBO as well as the Windage tray for the LH8?

You will need a spacer sleeve due to the longer LS7 crank, you will need to machine the dipstick hole (or use a GTO oil pan) then use the proper pickup and dipstick for either pan you decide to use. Also you will need a regular oil pump, timing chain and tensioner.

Spacer is SDLS7SPCR - $29.95 that is the only "special" part you will need. the rest is all stock style or regular LS aftermarket.

We have 6 of those on hand. Not only do i have them, i have also sold quite a few already. we have had them for a few weeks. As for the LH8 windage tray, none in stock, but if they are not on backorder, i can get them in a few days.

FYI as posted earlier the retro car swap that you asked about 19212593 uses the LH8 oil pan AND the windage tray. plus it comes with dipstick and bolts. good deal if you ask me

Some people say the Fbody pan, some say the LH8 pan, which comes in a kit form. The kit is posted in here, but for the kiddies who do not want to scroll its 19212593 comes with everything you need to install it, except for the labor. we only have a few more in stock and they will be out for a while, on backorder.

I still say F-body, especially if you ar lowering your car. The sump hangs lower than the crossmsmber.. bad things can happen if you bottom the car, or run over debris..

I have seen G-body swaps with modded oilpans (notch the front face of the sump), and modded frame crossmembers. Both require welding, are you good at aluminum, or steel?

John, do you know if the CTS-V pan stayed the same when the changed motors in 08?
