How are y'all getting vacuum from a Gen-III truck manifold? It's time for me to buy a vowel as GM used to have P/N 12559760, but it looks like it's obsolete and I cannot find a new P/N.

I could probably run a T-Connector off of the PCV line into the valve cover, but I'm guessing that there is a cleaner way that I'm missing.

I can't remember for sure, but aren't there a few nipples on the manifold that have little caps you can break off of them? You could also tap into the brake booster line, or PCV like you mentioned. There are several places...you should be able to find one easily.

I can see the break-off ports, but also want to make sure that I'm not leaving a port open with the resulting vacuum leak. (I'd tap into the brake booster line, but that's the primary reason for this post, I cannot find it!

 

Ah ok I see what you're getting at. I didn't know what that part number was that you were asking about until you posted the picture. I got one of those from the dealer about a year ago....maybe they have gone obsolete since then? I dunno.

 

I bought one of those about 1 month ago. It was about $4 from the dealer. It plugs into the rear of the manifold on the driver side. It was for vehicles without the power steering assisted brakes. If you engine had the power assist brakes, there is a solid plug on the manifold. It took them a while to find it. They seem to need a vin for every part lookup.

 

Dealer had one for me too. Mine came with the solid plug, ie hydraboosted breaks. I also broke one of the capped smaller lines off for the AC vacuum system.
