Default Tested the Rollbars Yesterday

I was out logging some data when the back end broke loose and I could not recover the car before a curve came up. I went up the curve and slammed into a streetlight pole on the drivers side. The impact was on the door right near the main hoop. Having the main hoop definitely stopped the door from coming further into the cabin. I walked away a little sore, but uninjured.

Glad you're OK.

Was that the final resting place, about 3 feet from the pole? Looks like the pole came out on top, not a scratch on it.
What speed do you estimate at the time you hit the pole?
If this just happened in the last few hours, make sure you have someone keep on eye on you for at least 48 hours.

That was the final resting place; hit the pole and bounced off.

I'm unsure the speed at impact the speedo isn't too accurate when the car is sliding sideways. In any case I was fighting to recover the car so I wasn't watching the speedometer or odometer at point

Rollbar was homemade and then powercoated. I wanted high downbars in the back to keep the backseat usable with my kids so the Wolfcraft wasn't an option for me. For those in the Baltimore/DC area, it was Tyson who did the majority of the work with a little help from Fireball & myself.

Whether it is fixable will be based upon the damage to the frame. I had subframe connectors which probably absorbed some of the force.

Well its good to hear you are fine. As for the car, it looks like some work put into it and it will be good as new. That right there just told me to keep my door bars, lol.

I didn't have my door bars in; fortunately the hit was far enough back that the door crushed in where the main hoop is.
