Nitto or Toyo?

Nitto or Toyo? My tire shop can only get me Toyo Proxie T1R's for my vette, here are the prices mounted and balanced:
Front: $258/each
Rear: $348/each
I can get Nitto Invo's on Discount Tire for:
Front: $165/each
Rear: $271/each
But my shop (since I'm not buying them from him) would have to charge about $30/each to have them mounted and balanced and old tires thrown away.
What should I go with? It's around a 700rwhp car, so I don't expect the rears to last very long...

+ shipping comes to $730 + 120 for install... thats $850 comparted to ~$1000 for Nitto, $1200 for Toyo

I just mounted a set Invo's of 275 18's fronts and 305 19's rears last night, and took it out for a little spin and they hooked up quite well even when I mashed the pedal down a little quicker than normally on my old tires....
Now Ill be back off to the dyno to get a full dyno pull and see what MY lil car will finally put down, as I was only able to take it up to 5800 rpms due to breaking loose on the dyno at only 7.5#...

Seems a little high at $30/tire for dismount/mount/balance. I just had a shop do the same thing at $17/tire. We're not talking about much money here though so get the tires you want, don't just settle on what the shop offers. FYI I put the T1-R's on my fronts last week but no info on how they hook yet.

Normally it isn't that high, but the runflats require a special tire changer, and he's afraid the 35 series on the rears will be a real bear, he did a Lexus a few weeks ago and it took 2 guys awhile to get it off carefully

I put Toyo Proxes T1-S on my 2003 Z06, and I was not impressed with them. Over the stock super car tires that came with my C5Z I actually lost dry traction. Now the Nitto Invos on my 2008 Z06 are night and day different from the stock runflats that came with it. I can still break them loose now and then, especially in cooler weather, but nothing like the runcraps.
Of the two, I'd definitely recommend the Invos. If you are more concerned with road course and dry traction, also take a good hard look at the Nitto NT-05s. Those will probably be my next tire, but I did already get caught in a recent downpour on the Invos, and they held wet traction pretty good.

I have the toyo t1r's and love them, but when I put the cam in the car it started to have traction issues. It is mainly a wheel hop problem not sure if tire related. But hope this helps with your decision.

For which size? Summer only huh.....Then go R-compound all around T888's......The RA1's will last longer though....I know they have great vette specs....Which sizes are you trying to buy, you can always advance a tad....

I thought the INVO's sucked on a 520 wheel horsepower car from a dig style launch. They were'nt bad but,..they weren't at all good. Thats my opinion. Would not put them on my car, unless I had a for sure back up drag radial or another tire mounted RA1.
I think the RA1's are the ****. You cannot compair the INVO and the RA1 together. The RA1 is serious traction. Invo,..made if your sub 500 or less. They look cool.
R888's are badass.....although more expensive The RA1's are more then enough.

Well I'm picking up the car Friday, its a 2007 with the Z51 package. Tire rack is giving me a real oddball size for the back, and really limits what tire to get. according to Toyo, I didn't see the R888 in both sizes.

I agree with V-Series, I really like the RA1....I drive a C63 with R888s alot and they are amazing but they didn't last very long. The side wall so super thick. Go with RA1's....
