In order to run 200mph in the mile, you will have to be at a power level of 800rwhp.

At this power level, this is with optimal wind speeds during track day.

word.

my best estimate, is 800wheel but,..with the right driver,..i think 700-750plus is possible with certain aero treatments is achievable.

......without giving away all the secrets, there's some obvious things that can be done to help out. one simple thing is tape,......taping all frontal seams... also hood mods, like custom hoods like an mcm hood is a step in the right direction,...or something to extract air,...like louvers or extractor vents. lowering the car,....as low as possible to rid the vehicle of as much air as possible traveling underneath the car.... a frontal chin spoiler may help in this situation but, might not be best for daily street use on a lowered car. belly pans in front and rear of vehicle again to limit drag, caused by air impacting flat objects like the cradle, or rear bumper.

there's also ways to smooth the air traveling alongside the vehicle to make it less turbulent. ultimately, the C5 is very sleek to begin with but, the hardtop is not as sleek as a hatchback version. if you can't get the car low enough, try thinner front tires,...as this will reduce drag. I run giant 295 fronts but, I'm not worried about it cause I've got a half inch between the tarmac and bottom of my front chin spoiler so i should be ok. a cheap easy mod to do is removing the engine hood seal at wiper base,...its somewhat like an air extractor when you do that.

I recommend lifting the car safely, and looking underneath it,...and you can see aerodynamic flaw points,.. but basically, if you could build a whole belly for the car,...you'd greatly reduce drag. I'm no expert but I've spent some time with these cars, and spent alot of time with aerospace engineers...picking there brains. in the end, It's all common sense mods,..ya know what i mean.

Goliad typically has a direct headwind of 10-15mph.

Most C5s need 900-1000rwhp to exceed 200mph under those conditions. If you catch the strip on a rare day that the wind changes direction, you can hit 200mph with 850rwhp. I have never seen a C5 hit the deuce with any less power than that. For what it's worth, I've competed or attended at the Texas mile 11 times and I've seen a lot of Corvettes run.

My friend "Peter Pan" on CF ran the Texas mile with his FI C5 coupe. He was around 740RWHP and missed the 200 mark by 2-3MPH. He was all taped up at the time.
