I'm just curious what kinda problems you guys have been having with your C5's since you've had them.
I'm at 60k miles now on my 99 and two things are worn out. One, the engine cooling fans squeek for 15 seconds after I shut the car off as they spin down, and Two, the inside A/C blower makes noise. I assume both are bad bearings and they need to be replaced.
The car has always had the issue where once every other month or so, the drivers side door will decide that it can no longer automatically unlock when I unlock the car with the FOB. Thats a pretty common one. Once in the past year, the memory seats decided they wouldn't move at all as well which made the car pretty much undrivable.
Overall, I'm happy with it. The drivetrain is very mechanically sound so far so the little stuff doesn't bother me too much.

Only problems we've had on ours are the speakers went out, there was a seal that went bad and had to replace it. An alternator (or 3) and a starter. Other then that, since 91, she's been purring fine

I had a problem where mine was slow for a while, but recently it's picked up some pep.
I get the same voodoo driver's side door every once in a while too, but the memory seat thing has only happened once. Other than that no issues, knock on wood!

Lets see, 99 A4 79,000 miles.. I have a rocking seat, left door doesnt unlock all the time (its better now that I turned the autolock off), my a/c blower shook the whole car at high speed - turned out it was full of old leaves - easy fix, RH temp actuator motor died (had to pull the dash), remotes quit (bought a used RFA module for 20.00), battery was leaking, active handling is freaking out and locking the brakes at 100mph at WOT (great fun, I have it narrowed down to a bad yaw sensor - I'll find a used one soon enough), outer damper ring started slipping forward after last time at the track (at least I finally put a cam in ), belt sqeaked like a 63 chevy with original belts, new damper fixed that. Other then that its been great for the last four months of ownership

01 ZO6 13,000 mi. Car would turn, but never fire up, had to be towed to the dealership 3 times, finally found a ground wire loose and that took care of that. As of right now I'm having problems wiht my cluth sticking to the floor at high rpm's.

Not much for me. Had the steering wheel lock prob leave me stranded. Disconnected it. If any of you have this prob DON'T by the bypass kit available. there is no advantage to it !!!! Other than that the drivers side head light motor is currently on the way out. otherwise no complaints.

I've had the following:
Column lock, weird door lock thing, alternator sawed through tps wiring harness, nuked transmission, trunk lid doesn't pop all the way up, rear knock sensor got loose and threw codes.
Mostly nuisance level except for the transmission. Also, the front tires wore extremely fast (to the cords in 15k mi.) on the inner part of the tire. The outside was fine and the inside problems weren't visible unless the wheels were turned to lock. I was up under the car with oil changes and such and never noticed it. I check them routinely, and almost didn't catch it until it was too late. I haven't made any camber/ride height changes. Dunno, maybe that just how fast the supercars wear. Maybe its my driving.
I'm still happy with the car despite the problems. It's still far less maintenance than my '65.

Well, it is my brothers C5, but I drove it more than he did!
Water leaking from the AC drainage was blocked. Water got in the passenger side and all was wet! The PCM burned because of the water leaking in side. (You need to clean that thing and watch out for it because it will burn you PCM like it did with me!)
And I had lots of Computer problems too!

Ok, you can add one more to the list. Driving to work today it threw a "Service Column Lock" message to the DIC. I had the column lock problem where it locks and leaves you stranded. I took it to the dealer where they installed the recall parts. It's worked ever since. This problem appears to be a different one. Now it won't lock, at all, ever. I really don't care if it ever locks, but all of this goofy column behavior makes me a little nervous about it spontaneously locking itself while I'm moving. Anybody had this happen?

Only problem I've had so far is with the driverside weather stripping. It leaks around the window, and thus blows air in my ear at high speed (irritating), and is always falling out around the top of the window when the door is open.
I've also found out the hard way how delicate those special lightweight windshields are on Z06's. I've got 2 small cracks from gravel that was kicked up by other cars. The windshield will probably need to be replaced, since the cracks go all the way through.
Other than that the car has been trouble free, and I don't drive it like a Cadillac (unlike so many other vette owners).

00 Hardtop with 34K miles
No real problems to speak of, other than the driver's door sometimes not unlocking with the fob and a very noisy AC compressor <---- need to get that one taken care of before summer.

Looks like the door lock not working with the fob is pretty common. Mine is doing it right now actually, next week it'll be fine.
The column lock has never happened to me but I have the dealer recall done. I'm tempted to try and fit an A4 dummy plate up to it so it never locks again. The idea of being stranded somewhere or having it lock while in motion is just too freaky to me.

My side mirrors came loose and turned out they were broke and had to be completely replaced with new ones at 257.00 a piece. I'm on my third one.

My 01' I have had for two years now and only 2,500 miles, had the console replaced due to it peeling, the speedo cluster was replaced when my DIC was no longer working (shorted out @ 900 miles), and the dang passenger door speaker rattles to no end and it was suppossed to be fixed, twice now!
Also whenever I am out in it,NO ONE ever tries racing me, Whats wrong with this thing?!?!

Well I've only had my 2001 for 2 weeks now so luckly not much wrong yet except for a pretty loud squeaking coming from the one of the pulleys. Sounds like the same idler problem I had with my 99 Z28. Oh yeah it's got a little piston slap thing going on too.
