Default So I raced a C5 Z06...Convertible??

Hey guys, haven't posted in a while since I sold my SC C5 coupe a couple months back. I was out at a local shop helping them tune a 240sx (my specialty) and as I was leaving I saw this flying down the freeway. I scrambled for the digital camera to snap some pics before I ran him in my lil' four door (03 EVO). Poor Vette got stomped pretty badly from a roll.

NOTE: I mean no disrespect at all. I still love Vette's but this poor guys is misguided. When we stopped he asked what the hell I had in my car because he has a C5-R motor making "about 505" horsepower...... My EVO on pump gas only puts down roughly high 300's with the 3071R turbo kit. Anyways heres some pics for a good laugh.

Dont forget about the painted caliper brackets and missing ZO6 seat markings.... What a poser I dont mind converting your car to look like one but putting the badges on is just wrong...

I'm willing to bet he paid some shady shop $20K to build him a custom corvette. They glued on z06 badges and let the car sit in the shop for 4 weeks. Then they told him they dropped in a C5-R 427.

The badges are to far back. See my Z06 below for proper placement! Hahaha.

Not defending him as we pretty much busted him out lol. But, I do know there is a shop in Florida, that would chop the top of the Z06 to make it a vert using a hard top removable piece or soft top, and do the targa mod not both to one car though lol. There are a few that are out there believe it or not. Would have been funny though to look in the car and see it was an A4 too. LOL. That car has been ragged out too its rubbed on something on that front right nose. Sad thing is that car was probably detailed.

that is just irritating. a few months ago out here in dallas we are eating out on the patio of a mexican food place. my girl, very well versed in camaro's she owns a SS and can spot a fake in seconds. points out to me a maroon colored Z06 and says that guy is a poser! i was like damn babe good spot. Z06 badges, ducts, wheels on a C5, obviously the color is wrong and the fact that it was a targe top, coupe, not a FRC which are hard to spot out if the windows are tinted and you cant see the seats. oh and the external B pillar had the corvette flags, which the Z doesnt. this C5 is definitely confused and has identification issues. its a total reject.

oh and good kill, he deserved it! i just noticed the C5R non pop headlights, maybe that is why people are confused about the motor.

I have seen a Z06 that has been made into a convertible using all OEM parts. It looks factory....

This tool is a poser.. wrong spot for the badges.. stock C5 rims....

Oh BTW... I saw a fake Nassau Blue "Z06" the other day... lol.. It was a bone stock Automatic targa coupe with chrome Z06 rims, stick on brake ducts and the badges... Even had the stock ***** tipped C5 Non-Z06 catback on it..lol.. what a douschebag.

A couple years ago Rodney at RPM Transmissions built a convertible Z06 out of a wrecked Z06 he picked up. His car looked 100% factory.
