I know there is alot more to buy but I don't know much about these turbo kits. I don't have a problem sending it to my tuner to sort out because most of the other systems are $8k just to start! What do you guys think?

Careful with that. I've seen that same ad many times. Don't know what the deal is but I know there was a post over on Corvetteforum and the guy was getting completely hammered. I'm telling you, just save the money and buy a proven kit from a proven tuner. This looks like it has headache and asspain written all over it.

This is a knock off of a Proturbokit. I have theyre hot parts going on my car right now. If these are the slightest bit off from what mine are they wont fit. Also they dont tell you the hidden price of putting that knit on your car even if this isnt a scam. You "will" have to put another 2000 in this kit to get it on your car and running. Trust me. If you are willing to take a chance and get it be my guest and I would hope that you dont get screwed.

I know there is at least another $2,000-$3,000 to have the car actually running and dyno tuned on this setup. But I can live with that, I can't live with paying $8k for a turbo kit and another $2,000-$3,000 to have it up and running.

2-3k

8k for a turbo kit is a small portion of what you will pay for a twin turbo vette...ask me how I know

Your better off getting the hot parts from ptk and piece it together.

What I meant was after all the hard parts were taken care of. Now I fully understand why so many go with a supercharger kit.

I talked to HP turbo systems and they had told me that easily for another $2k or so if I took the car to them they could install there turbo kit and have it ready to go. But then again there $8k turbo kit is quite a bit more complete than this.

i think that's a bill you'd end up shocked with in the end. $2k is pretty close to installation costs ALONE. factor in all the extra stuff they'll have to buy for you... it won't be close to that.

If you don't mind me asking what do you think is the minimum I would pay for an installed twin turbo kit all said and done? **** at this rate I should contact A & A and plan a trip down to California for a supercharger install.

I know nothing about turbo kits, except that i would love one on my C5. But because of all the trouble i hear about and the initail cost, I went with a Procharger. If your not looking for 700 HP why bother with the TT setup.

Even if you are the Procharger is still a proven reliable way to go.

Just my opinion

Because turbo cars hit way different than blower cars.

My original response was due to the fact that this exact same picture has been floating around for a year in for sale ads. That is one reason to be worried.

Additionally, that kit leaves a bunch to be desired.

Last, go to the corvette forum and under the c5 for sale section do a search for turbo kit and you will find this same add and a bunch of people bashing the seller, whether or not its the same guy its the same kit. They had tons of reasons not to buy it. Go look.

Penny wise, dollar foolish. Taking short cuts in FI (S/C or TT/ST) will ALWAYS cost you more in the long run!!!! Do it right, do it once and its much cheaper and much more enjoyable. Proven kit = fewer (not none) headaches. I wouldn't touch this kit at half the price...no customer support, no contact info, etc. If you have a problem (and you will), you are SOL.
