Finally! 6.50s NA on a 346!
I've been waiting for this for a long time - Now if we can stay together this year it will make me very happy! Yahooo!!! (Results are in 50-60* weather, sunny, winds at 10-16mph)
Run #1: 6.63 at 100.13, launched at 2500, left tire pressure a little high due to not being sure about traction issues on track
Run #2: 6.63 ar 100.82, launched at 3000, lowered tire pressure, BINGO, hooked well, pulled plugs to check and found 3/8 incorrectly gapped. Fixed.
Run #3: 6.58 at 101.56, launched at 3100, felt a definite "lift" on the driver front end!
Run #4: 6.57 at 101.78, launched at 3000, front end came up 2 feet and slammed me back down but it was great! (Wish I had a vid!) Ran a yellow TA with "N20 FED" plate. He stayed with me but I won.
Run #5: Oil on track, slid over mid-line before 60", would have enjoyed running that black TA though.
The car needs some serious suspension work. It is pulling hard to the right during launch but I keep it straight very well. It also apprears that the chassis is twisting badly. Now I get to spend some $$ on more parts, yepee!
Overall, I am very impressed and happy with the performance of the car this year. I owe a BIG thanks to LME: Late Model Engines in Houston, TX and Sean over at Corvettes of Dallas! Glad we are back in the game again!

It seems you are one of the few that have a pretty good combo going. So many people throw nitrous on their car and only run 7-8's. I am very happy with our car this year, it's running strong! I'd like to run that black TA again - I hit oil on the track and went sideways but I would have had him. I ran another 6.58 last night with a .003 light, while dealing with an irate MAP sensor. It was nice meeting your wife. See you both around!

I am still getting mine dialed in, but I was pretty happy with what it ran. But, and I mean this as nice as I can, you would not have had me.
You are about 1/2 second behind and 15 MPH short. Granted, you make some time up at the tree, but not enough.

LOL! Its a Formula! I am sure we will get a chance to run again. But just for fun. Your car is VERY impressive for a 346. You have the baddest NA setup I have seen, plus your car is very clean.

Congrats on the new found power Michelle. Sounds like she's rolloing out hard. I bet there's more in her though. The mph is a little low for that et. Maybe the AFR is off a bit on the topend. It sure seems to be 60 footing good.
Now you need to come down and run some of the 6.60 heads up index races with us. You are right where you need to be for that class.

Wow, beatin' up on me now, huh? JK So you have a 427 with twin turbos? - Am I reading that right? So you're running 6.0 flat? With a huge motor and turbos I would hope so... I think I still got you on motor alone though. Thanks for the nice compliments! Your car sounds good too!
Not beating any one up, just want to make sure you don't bite off more than you can chew. On motor the best it ran was 6.7 at 104 with a 1.57 60 foot. (I never got a chance to put an NA converter in the car, plus it is only 9 to 1 comp)
It runs high 5s coming off the foot brake. If we try to use the T Brake the boost creep causes us to blow the tires. I expect the two step to help some. Once we get that done, we con go to more boost (7 pounds right now) and also take some weight off.
You have built a setup to run max effort NA. And it works. I was not trying to take anything away from you. But you have a way to go before beating a 427 TT car, even if it is not optimized or dialed in.

apples and oranges...
great numbers for a NA car and max effort. She has the right converter and combo to go fast for her class....
Michelle, my car is together soon..... how about you spray that same converter and setup and see if you can run me spray to spray?? Not likely....
But if I run you on motor you would run a 6.5X and I would only manage a 6.8-7.2 range pass.... it is what it is. My setup is not for NA passes. Just like Larry said above, he is on really low boost, nitrous converter, and low compression and still has 15mph in the 8th on you. But you will never see his car beat you on motor without a converter swap and the fine tuning that you have put into your combo.
Congrats....... some folks would say if it were me: "It is still ONLY a 6.5 second pass..... stock headed cars run those times" but that is for another LSforum and different group of folks. You should be proud of your accomplishments. Keep tree'ing folks!
I still remember the first week I got my car playing down Carrier and meeting you and your husband at the carwash. Y'all have come a long way.... so have I....... lots of $$ being spent! Spend it while ya can... you can't take it with you!
