Talking New PB cam only m6!!! (Edit: Now w/vid)

I took the car to the track today with the new LNC-003 2-step and beat my PB. Without the 2-step the car went 11.99@116.56 with a 1.75 60'. With the 2-step the car initially went 11.700@117.99 with a 1.67 60'. Then I hot lapped the car and backed it up with a 11.71@118.18 with a 1.72 60'. These times were with the 2-step set at 5500rpm. I let the car cool down and bumped the 2-step up to 5800rpm and ran a 11.645@118.08 with a 1.62 60'. I really believe with some cooler weather and a few tweaks the car will go 11.5s or better. A "Big" thanks to Larry and the guys at Speed Inc. It took a while but the car is coming around nicely. I'll post the vid when I get a chance. I almost forgot, this was all done with a Speed Inc SI5 cam and the supporting mods are in my sig.

Thanks Larry, you guys have been a big help. I really believe my current stup has more in it. My track time was cut short though cuz I had to go to my neice's and nephew's 1st b-day. I really believe with some minor tweaks and cooler weather the car will go 11.5s or better. Then I think I'm going to swap to an SI6 over the winter and see how close I can get to the 10s next year.

What track do you take it to?

I've heard Byron's track prep isn't the greatest.
But that's still a nice 60'.

Thanks, I go to Byron. Their track prep is usually pretty decent. I think I can get the car to 60' in the 1.5s with a few tweaks.

Nice runs. What is your race weight? My car is similar to yours. Cam only M6 with 9". 4.11s though. I have been thinking about a 2 step myself. I can never seam to be cinsistant with my 60'. What clutch are you running? What are you shifting at? How are you launching? Dump or slip? I can not seam to get my car in the 1.5Xs. Maybe I am not launching hard enough. You are getting pretty high on the 2-step. Soon you will just be able to launch it off the limiter.

I'm not sure on my race weight. I think its around 3500lbs with me in it. As for the 2-step, its one of the best mods I've done. It's really help me be more consistent and helped me dial in the car alot better. I started out the day at 5000rpms and went 12.008 with a 1.76 60', then bumped it up to 5500rpms and went 11.70 and 11.71 with 1.67 and 1.72 60' times, and then bumped it up once more to 5800rpms and went 11.64 with a 1.62 60'. Next time out I plan to start at 5800-6000rpms and work my way up. I'm hoping to get the car to 60' in the 1.5s. As for a clutch, I'm running a Mcleod RST twin disk and I'm more or less dumping the clutch since I'm running 28x10.5 ET Drags. Oh I almost forgot, I have my shift light set at 6700rpms. By the time I actually make a shift the car is aroung 6400-6500rpms which is where I make peak power.

3500 is about stock weight if you are about 200lbs. What reduction do you have? What 2-step do you have? What intake manifold do you have?

Like I said I'm not sure on my race weight. I weight 230ish and my weight reduction includes.

UMI K-member & lower control arms
Driver's side airbag and steering wheel (replaced with a Momo)
A/C compressor, condenser, acumulator, and lines
Front and Rear bumper supports
ABS delete
Insulation
Rear and pass. seat removed
Driver's seat replaced with a Corbeau
Traction and Cruise deleted
Spare tire and jack
Billet Specialties Streetlites

I'm running Lingenfelter's LNC-003 2-step and I have a FAST/NW 92/92 setup.
