Talking Finally hit my goal...11's with STOCK INTERNALS!

Went to the track this past Wednesday and I finally got into the 11's with stock internals...car has full bolt ons, except for an electric water pump, with an SS4000 converter. This has been my goal for quite some time now. The best pass of the night was a 11.785@113.79. Here's the slip for that pass...

As it got cooler and the DA dropped, my mph kept going up, but I was having traction problems. Here is the slip from my last pass...

...with that 116 mph I know the car still has a lot left in it. I'll be doing some more suspension work and going back to the track on a day that there will be better prep...I just went on a regular Wednesday test and tune.

Special thanks to FLT, Yank, Speed Inc, and chrs1313. I know this car has an 11.5 in it.

Good luck! Might be possible with a decent amount of weight reduction, good 60', and some really good air. Just for reference...before the SS4000 I had a Circle-D 3000. Last September I ran a 12.1. My 60' was barely a 1.6. It definitely had a high 11 in it if I would have kept at it.

If you don't mind me asking, what were your mods? I am currently building mine and hoping to get to the 12.20's.

Nice work man. I love telling people at the track that my motor is stock and getting all kinds of stares of disbelief.

Yes, it is hard to tell people u run 11's w/ bolt-on w/out them telling u your lying to them when they do H/C and only run low 12's.Well i guess some of us have it and some don't.

Mods are basically full bolt ons with the exception of an electric water pump. A few things I'd especially recommend:

1.) ET Streets...plain and simple...Nitto's suck IMO. My 60' was horrible with them...tried dropping the tire pressure and doing longer burnouts but nothing really helped. I know some people love them...I'm just giving my opinion on them.

2.) SS4000...I think this is what dropped my time so much from last year, when I was running about a 12.1 with my Circle-D 3000. My car easily hits 1.5X 60's now.

3.) chrs1313 ram air...a lot of people overlook ram air and that is a mistake IMO. Here's a picture of mine...take a look at how big the opening is for the air to get in...

Haha my thoughts exactly. After the 11.7 run I popped my hood to let my car cool off a little and a guy came over to look at it and asked what I had done. He didn't believe that I just had bolt ons. He was looking for nitrous.

Have you ever weighed the car? Also what gears do you have?
Thanks and nice runs.

The scale by my house has been broken, so I haven't weighed it in a while. Gears are 3.42's...swapped the rear out of an M6 car...my stock gears were 2.73's...if they were 3.23's I would have just kept them.

Congrats on the times. My goal is to hit 11's SI also, don't know if it will happen this year, but I need to hit the track soon to find out where I stand. Just added the same converter you did and some ET Streets so I'm hoping to get low 12's and then add more bolt-on's until I can hit 11.99.

It looks like you've atleast removed the AC stuff, have you done any other weight reduction?

Thanks man. I was just looking at your thread...our cars are both NBM Formula's, we have very similar mods and our usernames are almost exactly the same.

Extensive.

You'll be about to go low 12's as you sit it looks like in good air, but keep in it for 11's!

The major stuff I've removed so far...AC, rear seats, spare/jack, and front swaybar. I also removed my windshield wiper fluid reservoir and some random heat shields that weren't needed. Stuff I've replaced...replaced the stock wheels with drag wheels and replaced the stock seats with racing seats...didn't remove my passenger seat at the track.
