Made it to the track Friday night, to put the first runs on the new clutch (McLeod RXT twin disk). It was between 88-92% humidity all night and the DA was between 1300-1465 during the times I made my passes. Needless to say I wasnt going to break any ET personal bests, but the car is leaving soo much better than it did with the RAM single disk POS. Over all I'm very happy with how the car is getting out of the hole being it has a 3700lb + raceweight (with a 165lb driver). I knocked off a consistant .05 off my 60 ft and had a freak 1.49 that felt absolutely awesome. My plans for the near future are a Burkhart Chassis short/chassis mount TQ ARM and to make some adjustments to the suspension to get mid -low 1.4's. Then to work out the kinks in the nitrous system and finally get a nitrous pass off. Here's a crappy video of the 11.2 pass, someone else was filming but havent posted up the videos yet.

Video doesn't work. Glad to hear you're liking the RXT. I just started breaking mine in, I can't wait till it's done so I can hit the track again. How many break in miles did you do?

 

500 stop and go miles. I didnt count anything cruising over a 2-3 miles stretch, i had a little note pad that i logged all my miles on, maybe a little over kill but i dont want to trash a $1300 clutch and flywheel

Nice man! I'm ordering an rxt for the vette too. Built trans is here and she seems to have picked up some power.

Btw I used to have a short torque arm on the car and hated how it rode. But obviously much better for drag racing and your kind of thing.

 

OP ... you had similar times with the slipping clutch ...! Your 60's are sooo much better now though. Were you spraying with the slipping RAM clutch?

I have the rst and love it. I didn't really break mine in. When I talked to the sponsor I bought it from they said as long as it was installed correctly I didn't need to do a break in. I drove around for about 150 miles total mostly highway and its been holding strong so far.
