Default Shakedown Results of 4.71 Gear and 28" Et Drags

All i can say is wow did this change mess with the car, lol.

first pass I tried my old shock settings for the 4.10/26" et street setup, 1 in front and 4 in rear. Launched the car and I was looking at the tops of the light poles, my buddy timmy was coming down the return road and he said all he saw was under carriage. Car came down and smacked some crap around but looks like all I hit bad was the passenger side header.

So from there it was make a baby change each pass and try to control the wheelies and get the car moving forward more.

Each pass got a bit better sixty foot and a little quicker. Track closed an hour earlier that nite so I ran out of time, but by about the 5th pass or so I was starting to get somewhere, really need one more trip to finish dialing it in.

Ended up with front hals on 8 rears on 6, and added 2 lbs to the slicks..was still carrying the fronts more than a foot in the air up to the tree but managed(don't ahve slip with me, so not all details)

1.533 sixty foot
1/8th MPH: 94.8
1/4 ET: 11.33
1/4 MPH: 120.8

pass before that with fronts on 7 was a 1.53 sixty and 11.35@120.X

Looks like its a step in the right direction so far as that is more than a tenth and one mph better than I've ran at this track or in this weather with similar sixty foots on the old setup all year.

I'm either going to go again one nite this week to finish getting the suspension and tires right or wait until next weekend and hit us41, which is ALWAYS a couple tenths quicker than GLD(i ran my 11.25's in good air at 41 at north vs south)..or maybe both, maybe i'll just race alot this week LOL.

Just wish they hadn't closed earlier, every pass I was going faster as I got the car dialed in again. I feel the car has 1.4 sixty foots in it and we'll see how fast it goes at a faster track and with good air coming again

Will try to get some launch pics from my buddy, kinda fun to see a stock displacement 6 speed carrying both fronts 2 feet in the air

oh i did. my back was killing me the next day. but then again that happens everytime i take this thing to the track lol

actually i did mess that header up pretty bad when the car returned to earth. there was a suspicious looking gap between the header and the head adn i think it was leaking cuz that part throttle hesitation crap got horrible on the way home. I changed the gasket and re did the bolts yesterday and its driving ALOT better now.

i put the car on the 17" nittos for the first time with this gear yesterday too. the street by my neighborhood now has 3 full gears of solid rubber going down it from me seeing if i could hook it fom a 1st gear punch, nope

yup i am coach, thanks i'd been contemplating the change for quite a while, i just wanted to get to where i fealt i was maxing out my old gear/tire first before making a change.

car just pulls and pulls, i think it'll go pretty well once i get it all dialed back in and we get some decent air again.

sure, only stipulation is you have to grab the shifter with your teeth and shift it that way.

street car my ***, a strong enough breeze would blow that feather off the road.

haven't seen em though, not sure how well he got the launched taped.

smokin..best for the nite was a 1.52, still carrying the tires too high IMO.

i'll get it figured out next weekend and 1.4 the car as long as the track prep is there

sean, click the rears up lil stiffer to like 8 so it dont squat as hard and run about 13-14 psi hot in the rears, with decent track prep mine dead hooks from 6000 dump and went 3 1.4's in a row, my rear has no squat on launch hardly with the stock shocks being so stiff, maby the extra stiffness will keep that front end down a lil more.

Great shakedown Sean. Did you lift, or just hang on with the first monster wheelie?
