Not that street racing should be condoned, but when my setup was a 346 ci, 224 cam and a 150 shot, I launched off the trans-brake against an Evo - and pulled him out of the hole.

Pulled him down the street too.

IMO, nothing hooks on the street as well as a fresh set of MT DRs. But a worn set will spin on the street like snow tires.

1.3 60'.....weak

I'm doing 1.4 60' with 0 suspension mods, a stock tranny (except for the converter), footbrake, 3600+ lbs, stock 10 bolt (I know yours is a "10 bolt" too )w/ 3.23 gears.

You know I'm just messing with ya John. That truely is badass. Especially at the low power level you're at. I mean, there's not too many people pulling those 60' times and "only" running 10s. It must be because my jack held up your rearend. Damn, that didn't sound right Rear swaps on the floor of a garage FTW!!!!

the key is hitting the radials as hard as possible and keep the hit going. the shock and the bog of the stick cars is what kills the traction imo

JL hit that radial as hard as possible. you will go quicker with those over any dot slick imo

I was about to buy a new setup on the back and was debating on whether or not to go with slicks or the MT DRs. THis thread may have changed my mind. My mods are in the sig. It will pretty much be a track only car but would be nice to have DRs in case I wanted to play a little around town....so do you guys think DRs or slicks???

I'd go drag radials. They work and since you seem to have all the suspension you need, they should work out fine. Drive to track, race then drive home

DR no doubt. the 325 are incredible. i had the 275 and went 1.4 60' on a footbrake just learning the damn tire. my car is far from a light race car. 3600+ lbs.

My car weighs 2967 without me, so it is light. The 325s are what I am looking at. Is there alot to make them fit with a 10" wheel?

This is interesting to read. I just dont know enough people hooking on these with a M6 car.... My car wasnt hooking well on a 26x16x10.5 ET street, and I was leaning towards 15" Bogarts. I really wanna try these though....

Yea I am curious too.....because next time I buy tires I wouldn't mind trying a set but if they don't hook then it is kind of a waste of money!

I don't think I can do any better then releasing the transbrake with right foot to the floor.. converter goes to about 6000 on the brake

Now, if these tires hook better then the 27x11.5 qtp's I am running now.... I wonder how close the bumper is gonna come.... I better stiffen the car up some first I think

JL there is no reason you cant hook with those tires. i dont know why you want to go to 6K rpms off the brake but thats your (insane) choice i left around 3500 on the brake and the nitrous let the motor eat! i have taken the advise from drag radial racers and not so much the net. 1.391 60' in a heavy car and some basic suspension mods. i cant wait to hit it even harder with another stage.

That's what the converter goes to when the go pedal's to the floor.. a 2 step would probably be a good idea at this point, but noone makes one anymore that works, that I know of anyway. I've been leaving off the brake with it on the floor only to be consistant, and try to get it to hook. I tried footbraking it once.. with my leg jammed on the brakes as hard as I could, it still rolled thru the beams, so I gave up on that real quick. I tried bringing it up to about 4000 and leaving off the brake.. but when I released the transbrake I let off the gas... so that's not really working either. I need to get used to the car a little more then maybe I can pull that off... but I think the nitrous converter swap will solve the issue.

By principle, if I could get it to hook leaving off the floor like I hve been... it should go faster.. just haven't gotten it to hook yet... but I've also only taken it to one rental day really, so there's still soem tweaking to do.

These tires are AWESOME at teh track! I run the 275/60/15s on my car and leave at 6500 and if there is any track prep at all, they hook.

My car is HEAVY, its full wieght, and cam only, N/A. The best short time I have got was a 1.66. The car just bogs through first gear, but it still pulls the front up about a foot.
