Default I went bracket racing...finally!

Many of you know I crashed my 10 second '00 Camaro last May, and didn't buy another until November. IT was pretty much stock, and as soon as I got it, I started putting all of the parts I had on my black car that I knew worked. At the start of the season, I only had a few runs on the car and never did get a good number because I blew up the TCI converter I had, and fried the posi in my rear end. Then, TCI sent me a replacement converter, and that one blew up and took out my transmission. So I went with FLT for a Stage 4 transmission and Yank for a PT4400. This is the first time I have tested out the new combo, and decided to run in the bracket race. It was an "All Run" bracket, which included bikes and snowmobiles, as well as the use of any electronics. In the quarter final round, I lost to a bike by one thousandth of a second

Here is a video of that pass. (sorry about the quality, the wife is still learning how to use a camera )

http://video.ls1tech.com/video/b34f6...4900e9ed7b.htm

The DA was +1700 all night. I ran a 12.00 dial and here were my times:

12.037 @ 110.84 - 1.57 60ft
12.053 @ 110.81 - 1.59 60ft
12.053 @ 111.39 - 1.63 60ft
12.069 @ 113.34 - 1.62 60ft
12.076 @ 112.98 - 1.60 60ft

I want to give a big thanks to my crew chief Shon Webb, and to CrawlinRS and his dad for all the help last night. I had a lot of fun, and look forward to the NMCA race in July.

Should've dialed that thing up a few numbers when you started running 12.05, haha. Nice times though, bracket racing is always fun.

Matt, if you don't mind sharing, what gear are you running? I'm looking at the PT4400 and PE4200 myself. What made you go with the PT over the PE series?

I have a 3.42 but will be switching to a 3.90 or 4.10 as I think my E.T. is suffering. I chose the PT series because all of the fastest motor guys are using them. I have not heard of anyone running their Pro Eliminator converters.

Thanks guys. Now I just have to figure out why the E.T. is so slow. It is off by a half second, if not more.

I still have to do an underdrive pulley, a gear (either 3.90 or 4.10), and a water pump. Raceweight on those passes was 3360. I plan on taking out the ABS, power steering, bumper supports, and put lightweight carpet in it.

Congrats on making a few rounds on your first time bracket racing this one! Better showing than I think most of us could report from our first time bracket racing!

Car is consistent too!

Nothing wrong with bracket racing, somehow it gets a bad rap these days but if it wasnt for bracket racing most local tracks would be closed with 'cheap' heads up cars costing 50K plus these days.

Congrats, these cars make excellent bracket racers.

It is better than the two TCIs I blew up and the Fuddle that never worked right. It works really good and is very consitant.

.

Anytime you finish a night in 1 piece is a good night in my book. Going rounds is the gravy. Good job neighbor.
