Default Anybody know the 1/4 record for a stock f-body ls1 on street tires

Went to beech bend yesterday with my 01' z-28 m6, just got the car last week. Car really surprised me! First pass of the day was a 13.1 with a 2.1 60 ft. I knew 12's were possible, after another 13.1, I broke into the 12's with a 12.96, 2.0 60 ft, figured that was as good as i would get, but I decided to make one more pass before the track closed. Next pass I ran 12.81 @ 108 mph 1.9 60 ft! I know some of the f bodys dip into the 12's, but I never thought about a 12.81 on street tires! Only thing the car has done is a flowmaster muffler, and no cats. Car is full weight, minus spare tire and jack. I'm sure there have been some stock cars go faster, but I can't imagine much faster. Anybody know of any faster et's or the record?

12.8ish I believe. Good runs, but there's no point in making that comparison since you're not stock.

Weight reduction (jack/spare), K&N FIPK in his sig, short shifter. He just got the car a week ago, might even have a tune for all he knows.

"Stock" means stock, period.

Not saying the times aren't awesome for the minor mods on the car, just that it's not "stock".

Ok guys, let me clear some of this up. The car in his sig is his OLD car. He sold it a while back. He JUST got this car exactly a week before taking it to the track. The guy he bought the car from knew NOTHING about them, he just drove it, and he was the original owner as well.

The shifter is stock, the lid is stock. The original owner swapped out the muffler and removed the cats so it would sound better, and installed a K&N filter.

About the weather....the DA for that run, or as close as I can get it time wise, was +1327. The track prep was outstanding, as just prior to this 12.81 pass, the car didnt even want to clean the tires off it was hooking THAT good!

Yeah, we both know it doesnt qualify for any record due to a few factors already mentioned, but, it's still some damn good times from a basically stock ride. Great driving helped as well

I went 12.55 @ 112.x on a 1.92 60 ft w/ a 6 speed trans on the stock GSC's.. I'm sure there are people that have gone much quicker (both automatics and 6 speeds). I think people with quicker cars get bored and try to see what they can do in full street trim.

How does your car sound without the cats? I'm debating on doing that to mine, but leave the stock SS exhaust on it. Can you make a soundclip and post it up?

Bone stock, off of the showroom floor, 12.8 is the fastest I have seen. It was a 02 SS.

all joking aside, I used to run those tires on my Old T/A and thought they were not a bad tire at all.
