clean or replace you mass ari flow sensor, my car dynoed low 200 because of a dirty mass air. car feels fine but had a slight hesitation around 2600-3000 rpms still would spin the tires sill would put you in you seat. No check engine light either. i would bet thats it. Good Luck p.s they sell mass air cleaner at local auto parts stores

the lower the tire pressure the less top end you have... your tire pressure needs to be JUST low enough that you dont spin too much, anything lower than that you are hurting your times..

and letting air out of street tires is kinda pointless... air should be around 30psi in street tires at the track.. and a SMALL burnout..

That was my point.

His 60 is not that bad really for a stock car granted a 2.0 is doable. My LT1 car beat every LS1 12-13 sec car I ever raced from a stop to the 1/8th mile and it ran high 13's with 2.X 60's.

Don't knof of many STOCK A4 LS1 cars runing better then a 2.0 consistant stock.

OP, make sure the MAF is clean but DO NOT touch the sensor in it.... I think most people just spray carb cleaner in it.... also clean the throttle body out while you are at it.

what kind of tires do you have? the size tells us almost nothing

why are you manually shifting an auto? the only reason you should do this is to stop it from upshifting if you have to feather it to stop it from spinning

you sir, are wrong. only auto's came with 2.73's. there is absolutely no reason it would take a power adder to reach 13's in an ls1 powered camaro unless there's a major problem. minimally modded lt1's can run 13's on 2.73's.

https://ls1tech.com/forums/drag-raci...ck-01-z28.html
^ he ran a 13.5 bone stock on 2.73's

i'd be happy to do a search and find 10 or 15 more if you'd like.

this guy could just be at a track with terrible prep or bad location. air has a lot to do with it.

i ran 1.9s every single pass in a stock 98 ta 323d a4.. bald *** street tires.. ran a best of 8.4@84... consistently ran 8.5s@84

thats worse than a bit low.. he should at least be at 80... there is something wrong.. or he has a horrible altitude/DA..

OP- i would suggest a full tune up... go back to the track with correct tire pressure and let the car shift for you..

you dont need 373s to run fast.... put a stall in it before you put gears in it..
spark plug choice is ok..
wires are good choice.... ALSO!!!!they have deal on here ALL the time for msd wires and spark plugs for 65 bucks shipped.. that is a GOOD deal!
mobil 1 is decent.. i would go with Pennzoil platinum though... whatever you do use something such as 0-30 or 5-30..
yes it was a mistake taking off and manually shifting..

Yes, and no....

He picked up 25 mph from the 1/8 to the 1/4...

Cars making the power I suspect.

I think he may have shifted it manually, and messed it up along the way, maybe hit the limiter a couple times, in his 1st two shifts, then once in third the car pulled like it should up top...

I don't know that's pretty slow. My friend had a 98 Z28 with 2.73s and all he had was bolt ons and and LS6 intake and had 853 heads and it went 13.7 @ 103 with a floor jack in the back. lol

wasnt really talking about the 1/4.. but i somewhat agree...

i havnt seen many up to maintenance ls1s trap below 80 in the 1/8... unless they are in the mountains.. if he hit the limiter that could def. kill his times and traps..

Thats my thread

Yes some do run better then 2.0's but it takes some work and it was thigs guys first time.

Get a good syntheic oil, does not really mater what brand as long as its a good one, with the miles I would get Mobil 1 but its all up to you.

Check out the deal on the MSD wires on here with the free plugs.

Also find someone that can leak down your cylinders.

Look at your coolant and make sure it looks good and not a milky brown.

I did not break out of the 14's untill my second time at the track..... try this before you roll into the second stage of beams rev it quick a few times. Hit the last beam and stand on the brake and rev up the engine as far as you can before the car wants to move, when its time to go get off the gas and don't floor it untill you hook.

This is what droped my times the most. It also loads up the suspension.

When my 83 BBC car was together I did this and it would leave 100 times harder then just flooring it.

Get yourself a 160 degree thermostat, even with a stock tune it will help keep your temps down.

actually, the 1.9s were my first day ever at the track..
car just runs good.. wasnt the driver..

+1 on oil, as long as you change it WHEN IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE changed you should be ok... penn. plat. is the same price though, and a much better oil..

Shifting auto manually is

Sounds like either your ground is bad or you need a new alternator.
