this may sound dumb but me and a buddy on two diff cars had this issue...

Check if your throtle body is opening all the way when pedal is to floor. If not adjust the cable by the removing the clip in the line and moving the line in or out as needed, hold line steady while replaceing clip.

all these cars tend to even out when you put h/c on them if all other variables are the same.

Okay I would like to point out that your problem are not your gears, not your traction and very much not your power you problem my friend is your REACTION time. I say go back to your track and run it and re-run it and re-run it until you drop that reaction time at least by (0.6) seconds. That is your answer to a mid 13 second F-body. I don't care whant anyone say but any Ls1 from the factory Stock IF driven right can go less than 13.99s ... HAVE FUN.

Im sorry I have to edit this but I want you to really get what I'm saying and forget any other comments that you have previously read ALL OF THEM. As your car is right now you are capable of 13s (your reaction time SUCKS) Plain and simple fix that you can brag about a 13second slip. Don't waste any money on your car just go back to the track and race it again.

i say you go back and read/learn some about drag racing..

he could have a reaction time of .0001 or a reaction time of 5 minutes.. his E/T is still going to be the same...
he would go back and run it and rerun and rerun it and drop off .6 on his reaction and run the same time, or slower...

... your answer to a mid 13 second fbody is reaction time ...

there is no reason to edit anything.. you are wrong, period.

AGAIN! his reaction time has NOTHING to do with his times..

not listen to us... our suggestions are going to help him... your suggestion is the worst suggestion in here thus far and would get him NOWHERE in lower his E/T.. if he gets a .0001 reaction time, he still isnt going to have a 13 second slip..

forget any other comments... ALL OF THEM!!

also, i forgot to add...

the clocks do not start when the light turns green.. it starts when you move... so if a car next to you runs the EXACT same times.. it can go when the light turns green, and you can go when he crosses the finish line.. you will both still run the exact same time..

AGAIN! REACTION TIME MEANS NOTHING!

please do not suggest something if you have no idea what you are talking about.. read up some, then post on a topic..
ignorance is one thing, stupidity is another..

BULLSHIT, i made a few 13.5 passes in my stock a4 w/ 2.73's at Palmdale no less!!

Dude do a full tune-up, Plugs, wires, filters (oil/air/trans), fluids (oild/diff/trans), coolant flush, Seafoam, etc. and toss on a set of Nittos, and shift kit while your in there. That will deff. lower your times and fix any issues you are having up top. Seems like it's running out of steam once it shifts to 3rd.

Oh and PLEASE for the love of anything you consider holy, LEAVE IT IN DRIVE and just use the gas pedal and brake pedal. The trans will only be delayed by your "manual" shifting BS. It does not have a manual valve body, your operation of the shifter has to be routed through the trans ECM before it tells the trans what you want it to do, causing it to "think" and have a slower reaction. Just let it to it's think man.

Lil tip off the line with the 2.73's, mine liked to be flashed off the line. It just spun the tires when i would power brake it. Just sit at idle and stomp on the brake when you see the 3rd yellow. By the time the green comes on you will be moving and get a good reaction time.

get a higher stall torque converter if you want to wake up the 2.73's. And to flash the converter you sit at idle, and when you see the 3rd yellow stab the gas, quickly let off, and stab and hold.

My friend drove his z28 to 13.6 BONE STOCK w/2.73's

If you think an LS1 is a 14 second car you are mistaken.

OP, could you post a slip, we can help you better if we see what your car is doing. If the slip is showing a lack of power maybe something is up.

What is your track elevation? Here at Bandimere 5860' mostly stock LS1 F bodys run mid to high 14's and that's a good running one.

our elevation isnt that high but the track runs uphill, and summertime da ranges from 3500 to 5000+...some have went 13s at bristol stock but it takes a very stout car with sticky tires to do it....ive seen several 500rwhp setups fail to trap 120...mountain racing is a challenge...

Yeah me too...haha, I raced against a guy in a Mustang once, and I sat at the light for 2.6 seconds, then chased him down.

I'm not saying any of you guys are wrong, because obviously different times have been run at different place with different cars.....

I can tell you guys these facts about my car
ET on Friday dyno'd on Saturday - Jan. in Phoenix (about 60*)
288 RWHP
302 RWTQ
13.7 @ 102 (1.9 60)
MODS
K&N
CUT OUT
M/T ET Streets
A4 w 3.23 gears

I obviously had no tire spin at all, the car did have a ton of miles, but it made solid power and did not smoke in the least.

Hope this helps.....

Oh and we are about 1250 ft
