Nice on the crank drive, F3 is a BIG bitch, which one did you go with, not an 139 I assume, that thing takes a TON of power to turn!

I'm going a similar path, but will be using the gear drive that Alston is coming out with and using an Xi vortech head unit, a good bit smaller then what you're using, but that's truestreet rules for the shootout, and I want the car legal for that. If not for that, I'd probably just put an F2 on it and be done, believe me I want to.

Motor sounds like a good piece too, should make some big steam. You'll be the first one to have enough power via another method then a turbo, to actually give the ooutlaw drag radial guys a run for their $, what you're building, I expect to see south of 2000 hp

The F3 131 looks like a good fit. I might go a little bigger but not the 139.

Got the Gear Drive today. (Thanks Terry) I have a lot to do to make it work with the dry-sump pump and alternator, but I'll figure it out.

I got a little more mock-up done on this project this weekend(I used washers to simulate the motor plate and Jesel timing cover)

I have to make a new block bracket for the passenger side of the drive bracket because the one supplied with the crank drive kit interferes with my dry-sump pump pulley and belt. But that will not be a big problem to fix. I also need to make a new damper hub, but I was going to have to do that anyway...

That's one hell of a new combo you are putting together. You may need to update the cage a lot sooner than you thought.

Gear drive looks really good. I think I'm gonna ditch the ALT and put a 16 volt battery in the car, so that eliminates that off the crank, only thing I'll have driving off the front is the vaccum pump, and if I do a dry sump the pump for that, and maybe the fuel pump, if I take that route. BUT, I can cheat and run the belt off the dry sump to the fuel pump, mount the fuel pump up above that if I go that route... makes for a good setup (dry sump belt goes away so does the fuel, so it dies, safety for the engine there)

Still looking into everything though... not sure what I'm doing with the blower. Might just say screw it and put an F1r on.... not sure yet.

Yeah... The cage might need an upgrade soon. It this sucker doesn't run 7.50's or better, I'm going to turn it into a leaf blower!

I'm converting my alternator to 16V too. This car might see some limited street use, so I'm going to need it. And I'll be running my fuel pump off the back side of my dry-sump pump... I'll post some pics of that when I get my pump back from ARE.

Finally, I will be working with someone local who is not only a great guy(just spoke with you over the phone this am) but is very capable with LS motors and fab work. Looking forward to seeing the shop. Thanks again for your time! Your build is sick. I need the motivation as my car has been apart for 3 years! lol

Here is the finished product on the fuel pump drive. Gary @ ARE worked with me on this, and now it's a part that is available to the general public. BTW, the fuel pumps rotates 360 degrees on the oil pump mount so you can point the inlet/outlet in any direction.

This dry-sump pump fits on any LS series block and drives a Magna Fuel pump. Due to the oil pump setback, and the location of the fuel pump, you will have to use a motor plate but that's usually the case with a set-up like this. And with this pump, you can use a Jesel Belt drive cam, distributor, alternator, crank trigger and run a crank drive Procharger. No special frame or motor plate brackets will be necessary.

Now that this set-up is a production piece, the only custom parts the will be needed is a damper hub and a modified Procharger crank drive kit from The Supercharger Store. I finished re-making the crank drive brackets, and the new hub should be finished by the end of next week. I just have to double key the hub bore, and drill and tap the flange for the damper ring mounting bolts. So far it all looks and fits great.

Here's a rough mock-up of the engine with the Procharger install. Lots of finish work to do, but you get the idea. All the needed drive accessories are installed except for the distributor. And that will bolt to the top of the motor plate.

Have you tried a production header on that side, to see how close the pump will be to the header?

I love the idea, and that if the belt on the oil pump goes the fuel pump stops running too... that's great. I am however, curious about the header clearance.

Yes... I have a set of Kooks headers and there is plenty of room around the fuel pump. The next time I have it out, I'll take a pic with the headers installed.

I got stuck waiting on parts for this, so I'm working on this instead. https://ls1tech.com/forums/conversio...e-project.html It should be ready for the track this month. It's a lot closer to being done than the pics show... I have not posted to that thread in a while. And it's not a 25.5 cert anymore... It's a 25.2 & 25.3 cert car.

I'm bringing this one back from the dead.

I ordered a set of custom pistons from Wiseco, and sent the block back to ERL to have oil squiters installed and double O-rings for the block and heads. I also ordered a set of Callies Ultra Rods. http://www.callies.com/components/connecting-rods/ And I'm debating on swapping out my Callies Magnum crank for their new center balanced billet crank http://www.callies.com/crankshafts/u...t-crankshafts/ But I'm not sure on that yet. I already have two magnum cranks for this project, so I'm not sure if I want to buy a third... That will be a came day decision when I get the block back from ERL.

IF I knew where you lived, I might drive out there and push you towards finishing this. . . but mines down too

I'm tired of ordering parts... I myself am probably 5500-6k into my build and it all started from a blown head gasket...
