I can keep my 9"

The problem is 99% of racers out there ditch the manuals for auto's because they can't get consistant or keep breaking parts (clutchless is another story).
It all depends on how fast you want to go. Do a yahoo seach for Rossler Transmisions... that will give you an idea on what a super nice bullet proff tranny with great customer support will run you. If you just want like 500 hp then about an good tranny shop can built you a good one for a lot less.. all just depends on what you want and how reliable you want it...
There are some liberties on the street but they have to put a clutch in the car from what I hear.
If you search on yellowbullet.com there is a TON of info on the clutchless stuff over there.

well, i'm just debating with myself to stay manual (since i just built it up)
or, while everything is new, to tear it down and throw more cash away for a th400 setup lol

Stay manual...
You can go with a face plated T56, McLoed Soft Loc and run clutchless. Just need to dump the clutch on the line, and up shift as you go down the track w/o the clutch.
The SoftLoc is setup to come in as rpm goes up, so you can adjust it to have a nice launch just like an auto.

i used to run a liberty clutchless in my car-wouldn't think it would make a very good trans for anything but an all out race car-have to hold it in gear(except for high gear)you can't down shift with it.

Listen to this guy if you want to stick with a manual tranny he's about the only one in here that's got 100% solid info other then Shawn from VA speed... holding the tranny in gear like he described is not something you can ever drive around, and when you see the cost of a softloc clutch and the life expectancey, you won't want to do that either.

Oh yeah I've never seen a Lenco street car before that was kinda cool.
