Nitrous bottle mount tips.....above tank in hatch area.
Alright I have full intentions of mounting my nitrous bottle above the tank in the hatch, but the metal is cut-up from the previous owner who changed the pump. Also I took the stock carpet out, and replaced it with the carpet from speed inc, it stops at the top of the back seat. I know they sell the back carpet kit, but its just more weight and money for pretty much nothing. SO the fuel pump is open to the inside of the car know.
My question is how do you guys mount your bottles back there?
I guess I am going to patch the hole with some thin 18 gauge, and rivets. How should I mount the mounting brackets? Dont want to drop the tank to put bolts in for the brackets. It needs to look pretty presentable as well. It is a mostly strip car, but seeing is I do custom paint/fabrication for a living I cant have my **** looking unprofessional.
im sure there is a way to do it, and be badass. I just need a few ideas to kickstart the thinking process. Thanks in advance.

I mounted mine on top the drive shaft tunnel in the back seat with some custom brackets. The top of the bottle with the valve is sticking right between the driver and passengers seats and angled down. Makes it easy to open and close since I don't have a bottle opener and don't have to get out and climb in the back seat.

i'd just get more carpet and cover up the hole then. I had a 15 lb bottle so the fitment on top the gas tank wasn't very good and I didn't want it all the way in the back because I wanted to keep the t-top holders. Plus, it looked like crap mounted up there and it wouldn't fit in the spare compartment anyways.

I removed the padding. The fitment is really good. It wont be at first, but after letting it settle for a week or so in the car it will unwrinkle. Or let it sit int he sun for a few hours on a hot day.....it was kinda hard for me seeing how i put mine in jan. in central ***** cold Illinois. Its 150 MORE for the hatch carpet. Not worth it for the extra 2 foot of carpet in my opinion.

No, I made two 1/4" bars 2"W X 12"L and drilled and tapped holes for the bottle mounts,Then i tack welded them down on the high ribs ,off the fuel tank,Then screwed four 1/4"D X 1-1/4"L studs for the bottle mounts. Then pulled the carpet over the bars then mounted the bottle mounts
