Most get a aftermarket sterring wheel, I did and really like it. I think somone has removed the airbag, and re stuffed the cover to look like stock in the wheel.

to get the airbag wires out of the cloum I had to cut a yellow airbag connector and pull the wires out of the colum. my horn still works, that wire hooks up easy if the wheel has the buttom.

engine harness is done. Check out all the open pin on the PCM

And the front end too mostly, I re pined some of the bigger 6-8 wires weatherpacs so I only have 1 of them, were stock theere was 2-3 in the same spot. I think I can re pin one the the fuse boxes so I can only use one. And remove the other one. I might need to have a extra relay or 2. I didn;t think one had enough spots for everything I still have. But I need to look at it agian. I'm gona move that and the PCM to under the dash anyway.
The dash/ inside the car is mostly done, just need to finish it looking at the car to check a few things what I'm not using again.
I have 2 plastic grocery bags FULL of old tape, 2 full of wire loom, I have some softer loom to use under the hood I dont think I'm gona loom the harness inside the car. I box full of un used wires, harness ends, solenoids, and things removed for the harness. I think I'm over 20#s removed?

this is just the de pined wires

OK just weighted this box of the stuff I had at the house. Its 18.5

And its missing some other things on the car still I haven't removed, I can once I get this other harness in. The shock sensors, The cruise switch on the brake pedal ( And I can cut that metal off the pedals) The Evap stuff (that was 8 I think? I posted it already)
https://ls1tech.com/forums/drag-raci...uestion-2.html

Some of the switches have some heat sinks (defrost), and the HAVC controals. I can cut down, and remove so it just the face that looks stock. A few relays are still under my dash (foglights) And the stock amp and speakers, head unit. Not sure if that counts, I'm gonna run a different head unit with a Ipod jack or something, and just 2 or 4 speakers. But its gona be smaller, and lighter then the stock radio stuff.

I am going to run a small amp with just door speakers. I will use my Ipod for music.
Did you keep the BCM? If not how did you get rid of it wiring wise?

For those that have done this.. looking back on it now would you have bought a used harness for what you were stripping/de-pinning and worked on that one etc or just do it to the ones on the car?

I'm doing it with the body harness in the car and everything else out right now...

I plan on buying another engine harness and doing that outside of the car though

I would do the interior harness in the car. Having everything semi plugged in and oriented towards it's original location really would help. I did mine in my garage with it laid out on the floor. It was a pain in the *** and I was constantly trying to figure out what certain plugs went to, consulting diagrams, and my other car.

Sounds good.. and if you had to do an engine harness would you buy another separate one and do it off the car or do the stripping to the one you have on the car already?

ya the engine harness is easier to remember everything if you work on LS1 cars at all. The others just mark the ends so you know what they are. if you don't your not going to remember all the end for sure and will have to look them back up.

Yea I'm pretty proficient with the engine wiring harness and reading the pinouts etc. Just haven't ever worked on the body harness and stuff. The main **** I need to get rid of is all of the ABS wiring from getting my new MWC 9.

What made it difficult for me was that I waited quite a few months to start on trimming my interior harness from when I removed it.
