Default anyone using hurst's pistol grip quarter stick shifter?

I'm looking to buy the hurst pistol shifter with the button on top and was wondering if anyone has one or has ran one? I have a th400 it's going on and wanted to know if they like it.

Do you still have the a4 center console. I want to keep the stock console but trim it some so everything fits right.

I love the quarter stick on powerglide apps. If you run a th400 I prefer the Precision Performance piece. Fits the console alot better and you dont have to do anything but kick the shifter to the next gear. I will get some pics up tomorrow.

I have the pro ratchet with rmvb and I did a lil trimming on the upper, but it all fits well and looks awesome.

I had a quarterstick in my car (carter01 has it all now) and it was great, minimal clearancing, we just mounted the shifter on an a4 base plate and built it up a little with a peice of bar.

I won't hesitate to buy another one when I get the car back together, glide going in this time around, and I'd use it again. I am ditching the console though, so whatever I buy I'll have to put the case around it, so it looks somewhat finished.

I would like to keep the console to keep it clean inside. I spray the car ever now and then and I had acouple passes wear it broke loose on the spray and I had to lift and shut the switch off. I'd like to have the spray switch on the shifter so all I have to do is release it if it gets loose.

Do you bump it into the next gear or pull back on the bar mounted to the shifter to hit the next gear? I don't care to much for the ratchet shifters.

Depends on the tranny valve body. If you have a reverse manual valve body you will pull back, if it's a forward valve body you push forward.

I'm not sure if you can set a shifter up so you pull it even if it's a forward valve body, that's possible.

I would leave the nitrous on a WOT switch, and if the car gets loose just pull the next gear the bog will make it catch.

Some of the best advice you will ever get.

I would either have a Quarterstick as well, WHEN the TH-400 or 4L80e goes in. I had also considered B&M Hammer Shifter as I liked the look and the way it gripped, since the car would be street driven, something I had considered.

No push button activation switch but I just like the look and expected feel.

yes when in first gear you pull the lever and pull back into second gear and then to shift to third you just pull the handle back no need to touch the lever

Mine was set up different. I had to pull back on the 2ndary handle when going from 2-3 the 1/2 shift idn't require any use of the 2ndary lever.

I also had to pull back on the lever to get otu of park I think... it's been a while.

PM carter01 on here he has my old tranny/shifter setup I'm sure he can tell you how it's set up.

Thank You Camscam02 and JL ws-6. Now all I have to do is mount it and then put a brake in the trans.
