Default Who has removed HVAC through the glove box?

I seen a thread back in 2008 that someone had removed their HVAC through the glovebox without taking the dash out.. Has anyone else done this? I really don't want to pull the entire dash to get to the heater box if there is an easier way.

I removed mine from under the hood while building my 383,, I dont see how in the world it would be possible to remove it from in the car without removing the entire dash assembly, as the box bolts to the firewall, and some of those bolts would be inaccessable.

You have to remove the whole dash, you can't get to all the screws, ect. through the glovebox. And the hvac box is to big to fit through the glovebox.

I think it would be a PITA to do it with the dash in.

If you need any help just let me know...I took my dash out in about 15 min, its actually not that bad.

Ya I'm not opposed to taking the dash out I have just never done it before and id be worried it wouldn't go back together the right way afterwards. Dubz I may have to take you up on your offer here soon. What material is everyone using to seal the hole off? I'm going to go to lowes after I take the stuff off just not sure what to use for the plate. No I'm not going to waste my money on a premade block off plate so don't bother mentioning those.

You should be able to pull it out through the gas tank.

That made me chuckle.

As for removal, bout the only thing in a forth gen I have taken out in dash is the Heater Core. I have helped remove entire HVAC and for the amout of work it is, just take your time and remove the dash.
