Wiring Harness Question Looking over my wiring harness tonight, there is a firewall gromet and 2 connectors that go inside the vehicle.
I can't remember what these actually do, can anybody remind me?

Where does that ground strap go? There is another ground strap higher up on the wiring harness, which mounts to the body I believe. I believe the weather pack goes to my driver's side O2 sensor?? I forget.
The following pictures are the wires on the harness that go into the vehicle, through the firewall, passenger side. What do these do? I'd like to fire the motor this weekend and want to know what is needed.

The ground strap bolts to the block behind the alternator on the end you pictured. The other end of it bolts to the driver side frame rail.
The two connectors are to be run through the hole in the firewall behind the PCM and the grommet seats it off. The connectors plug in to other connectors behind the passenger side kick panel that are the female versions of the ones pictured.

The post on the back of the alternator is hot not ground! If you hook it to the alternator bad things are going to happen when you hook the battery up. There is a threaded boss on the block where the ground goes. It is located between the alternator and engine mount on the side of the block.
I am not sure what every wire on the two plugs with the grommet are for, but I'm sure that you need them to crank the car. Most likely have the signal wires for oil pressure, engine temp, voltage, check engine light, etc. As well as the switched ignition to the PCM and the starter crank signal wire from the BCM. The car probably will not even crank if you leave those unplugged.

Okay down to 3. I'm wondering if these go to nothing, since I took off some stuff...
This was by the passenger side fuel rail. had a decently long cord. Where's this go and what does it do?
This one is attached to harness that runs along the passenger side fender. Almost down by the battery.

Well, I guess I needed a couple more, went to start the car and nothing. Heard a very quiet "click" from down by the pedals??
I have the clutch pedal depressed, so that clutch sensor is okay, but I found 2 connectors and 2 empty plugs that I'm not sure about. Would these cause the motor not to even start? Starter isn't even going out. With the starter mounted, I have the wire attached to the starter, going to the pole on the solenoid that is closest to the engine block. The HOT from the battery is on the pole farthest away from the block.
I think these plugs and connectors are the problem??
Here are pics, I'm thinking one of these is preventing the circuit.
First are the 2 plugs I don't get. They don't look like they fit into the empty connectors.
Wires look to be pink and gray on this one..
These look to be gray and black with a gray stripe

If I remember, this is by the clutch pedal, if the clutch pedal were NOT depressed, this switch would contact.
This one is by the brake pedal. Same deal, this would contact if the brake pedal was NOT pushed down.

OK, I figured the connectors out, there was a connector combo that connected everything together, figured, great, ready to start. Turn the Key on, fuel pump primes, gages light up, and turn the key and nothing, no clicks, nothing. Gages dim, like it was ready to start.
I'm completely lost now.
Just a recap, there is nothing in the interior, just plugs laying everywhere. Engine is all connected, except for the (3) plugs seen in post #9
What inside the vehicle could prevent the starter from trying? Is it in a lock out, thinking it was stolen? I had everything apart for at least 6 months.
Lastly, I snapped a pic of the starter wires, before I gave up tonight.
I'm completely lost now.

Im pretty sure there are quite a few connectors in there that can stop it. Is the BCM hooked up? You could try jumping that switch for the clutch, maybe its not sensing what it needs to. With the fuel pump priming and lights coming on it sounds like everything is working right, just not getting clutch signal

BCM, where is that located? Is that the yellow unit that bolts on the trans tunnel, under the center counsel? I was thinking that was just for airbags, because that is not connected.

If the BCM is one of the two smaller black plastic boxes, yes, those are connected as well.

It fires! I got looking around and what I thought was the bcm was something else. Went into storage and got my dash and the bcm was clipped on it. Plugged it in and fired right up! Thank you everyone!
