Putting them in is kind of a pain in the ***. Driving is fine, we have stopped from about 135 with just the strange sportsman brakes with no issue. I will put up some pics later.

I got all my stuff from Madman. Strange front and rear brakes, racecraft spindles, and racecraft manual master cylinder kit. Installation is moderately difficult and I personally would not recommend them for a street car.

From a safety standpoint they just don't stop the car with the ease and reassurance that the stock brakes do. If you are in a situation that requires hard quick braking you will wish you had the stock brakes back. I have driven mine on the street and it is doable but I would not want to do it often.

The pad size and slots in the rotor are not the best for longevity and the rotor is too thin to take the rigors of street driving without warping. The brakes are designed to be as light as possible while still managing to stop a car only once then cool down. I don't think the rotors can be turned and the pads probably will need to be replaced quite often.

I'm not trying to bad mouth Strange(or any other drag brakes) as they are a fantastic product and I am very happy with mine. But I would not have them on my car if I drove it daily.

what dose your car weight?

you ask racecraft about the master? did you have to drill a new hole in the brake pedal arm?

My car is 3000lbs without driver.

I did not speak to Racecraft about the master cylinder. Why do you ask? It came with instructions that specified where to drill the new attachment hole in the pedal(IIRC it was 1" above the factory spot).

I've driven several older vehicles w/ manual brakes... never had any problems... now they don't stop on a dime like a factory f-body... but its not like driving an 18 wheeler @ 80,000lbs... I know this.

my 68 camaro has manual DRUM BREAKS all around and I drove it for 2 years in college.

I have also driven a few vehicles with drum brakes. The most recent was my step brothers 67 camaro with manual drums and I assure you it stops better than my car.

I asked cuz I heard some guys use some other master you can get for like $35 at the parts store, and some don't drill the new hole. Ive been wanting to get drag brakes, and delate the power boost for weight, but want the car to be save for street driving. I heard strange a different brake pad more for the street?
I have a 67firebird with manual drums I haven't drove much. Also had a 68 belair wagon with manual drums, for a winter car for one year. They worked OK. But you have to stand on them once the car was stopped, it was creep easy.
