At what point is a pro stock wing "necessary"?

At what point is a pro stock wing "necessary"?
I love the look of the big joe van o type wings, and this isnt any way saying im ever going to run one, but at what point do you guys feel its needed for actual performance reasons?

ya i am in no way thinking of putting one on my car, i was just watching 10.5 outlaw on youtube last night and saw some with and some without and wondered what the general thought was on them.

It's a wheelbase thing IMO. Mustangs, especially fox cars are alot narrower/shorter. The car itself, is just alot smaller....
Kind of like a v8 vega, they NEVER felt safe, and weren't a ton different in size.
Wing, on a fox car is a different story. I'd put one on as soon as it was seeing 135 thru the traps

yes the fox body track is definitely more narrow. believe it or not the wheel base is less than an inch shorter though. the 4th gen f-body is 101 and the fox body is 100.5
