Will hopefully finish tune with a couple trips to test and tunes (I'm no tuner) if I cant get it I'll concede to a real tuner. After some break in time on motor and tranny the plan is for nitrous. I want to say 250 max but we all know how that goes.

Im not sure on the rear bars. Built the cage myself and went through the specs pretty quick but didnt see where I couldnt do them that way. It is mostly a street car for sure though. I plan on putting bars from the bottom of the rear bars to the top of the door bars on the main hoop. When i went to notch them I stripped a bolt on my notcher and painted it the way it was. Got the hood done and on, running an aero scoop on factory hood. Hood is still hinged and I fiberglassed the bottom of the scoop to except the velocity stack off the throttle body.

The weather hasnt cooperated with the track test n tunes so had to take her to the dyno. Was pretty happy with resullts, 502/415 was the numbers. It had some issues that need straitening out, first beimg a little stumble/miss at about 6300 then flatlines to 7000 where we stopped. And second is the mph recorded on dyno, 7000 rpm in 3rd on the dyno read 122mph.

I believe JL is right. But all you should have to do is just bring 2 bars straight back from the main hoop, and tie them in at the base of your x bars. Very Nice Ride you got there. Best of luck with it.

Thanks for the compliments. I'll take a look at the specs for rear bars again but not a major concern for me. Dyno results are posted above 502/415. If anyone actually know what they're converter slip percentage is I'd appreciate that info. On the dyno at 7000 rpm I was seeing 15%. Im sure tranny had some heat in it not helping matters. Going to a test n tune tomorrow to start dialing everything in and find the problems and weak links.

15 pct on the dyno is a lot. Should be about 1/2 that

Made it to track yesterday. I run 3 passes at part throttle checking the car out, mainly the brakes wanted to make sure they were going to get me stopped by the last turn around. Then run 3 passes wot, first pass shifting at 6200. second pass bumped shift to 6500 and spun off the line a little. third and final pass I said the hell with it and set shifts at 7000, spun pretty good on the 1-2 shift. Still seeing 12% driveline slip at the stripe oddly enough at 7000 rpm on all 3 passes.

Cool! What do you expect it to run all dialed in?

Not sure on final weight of the car, but I would think with the converter right, and getting the car to leave right there's a good 1/2 second left. Should be able to get 60's to high 1.3's

Fwiw I had my old 402 setup running 10.50 at 3600 lbs 7 years ago, and it made 470 rwhp then. It needed a carb intake and a set of 4.30's and I think there was another .2 to .3 in it from that, and a converter change maybe another .2 from that, converter I had stalled at 5200 but it was a 9 inch nitrous converter built for a 346, a 8 inch converter built for an n/a setup would have ran a good bit better I think.

Surprisingly the scales at the track said 3550, I was expecting heavier. I do believe the 60' will get better, I was leaving the line between 12-1400 rpm and flashing the converter. All in all I was pretty happy with the day and how the car worked so far. Still have to go over the logs to compare tranny/converter slip across all gears to see if something sticks out. Didn't touch a wrench all day until I dumped my tool box taking it out of the truck when I got home.

Well I havent had a chance to work on car or get it out again yet. Today I had time to actually look at the logs I saved right (only 2 of the 6 passes for that day). Not sure how to put this in the best format so I'll list them out by gear then engine rpm/tranny converter efficiency.

2nd gear= 5836/72%, 6070/77.3%, 6336/81.6%, 6453/82.6%, 6526/85.3%

3rd gear= 5812/69%, 6026/75%, 6220/76.5%, 6442/81%, 6526/83.9%, 6743/87.5%, 6991/90%

Foot braking its a little harder to see where the converter is flashing to because it starts rolling right away, but it looks to be 45-4700 area. Im a little lost on which way to go with it now. The percentages between 2-3 gears are close enough i dont think its tranny problem. They also show that the converer is coupling up and would probably be around 93-95% by 7500. Maybe someone smarter can help me out here

Time to update a little. I didn't have the car out once this year but tried a different converter last fall before putting it away. Pulled the ss4000 to send back for a restall to pas3400. While it was out I put my old PTC40000 stall spec'd for a head/cam Ls1 in it. Took it to the track and go to hook up computer to log my runs and I forgot my hptuners cable. The converter hit hard and spun right away so I lifted and rolled back into it. I think it was a 1.75 60' trapped 103 in the 1/8 and was on the 7600 limiter before 1000'. Obviously this converter was less efficient up top for me so I though I try and just get a decent 1/8 pass off. Second pass same thing spin, lift, get back into to the 1/8 with same results as first pass. Not being able to log and tune or make a full pass I packed my junk and went home.

Climbing over the cage and dropping on the seat made my already ripped seat way worse. Looked for s used set of seats for a while and wasn't going to pay for new cover. So in went some Kirkeys

At that time I pulled door bars, cd changer, rear speakers, front and rear seat belts. One of the door bars is now a transmission crossmember in my Dad's 55 chevy. The new converter had been laying here so I threw it in then also just to let it sit a couple more months. Now I'm thinking this converter has to work so let's hook up the nitrous kit and make the switch panel. Here's how that's going to look.

Fast forward to a couple days ago. I've had a couple kmembers sitting here for over a year now so I decide it's time to do that. Decided if I'm going to try and lose some weight I might as well go all in. So I picked up some more tubing and got a hold of a member here (thirdgenbum) Matt Walter and bought a motor plate from him. Plate should be here Wed I'm hoping. So today I got started on trimming some fat. Here's how she sits tonight.
