Nevermind. They have both lexan and what they call "Speedglass" which is supposed to be better.

I think that the "speed glass" is better...doesn't scratch as easily. I beleive for our car the molded package is about $1600.
Looking into this myself.

I've been in Martel's shop several times. Nice folks. The sales lady...who was one of the family members judging by some of the photos I saw was very nice. She took me in the back, and walked me through their inventory looking for stuff for my car.

I dunno. Seems like 4 somethin' gears with a 3 speed or a 4xxx stall would make a car less of a joy to drive on the street than looking through lexan glass.

Shot them the following e-mail:
************************************************** *****************
Greetings -
I have a 2000 Trans Am that I am looking to lighten up for racing, but still be able to drive on the street, daily if necessary. I was looking at your speedglass products, and was wondering a few things:
1) Is it tintable?
2) Is it streetable/streetlegal?
3) Would doing the windshield affect structural integrity?
4) Would there be a large increase in road noise?
5) Aside from touching it, is it obvious that it is not glass?
6) If I purchased side door glass, would it still be able to roll the windows up and down (power windows, if it matters)?
7) What thickness would you recommend for my application? (please bear in mind that weight savings is key, so thinner = better, but this car has to be able to drive in wind, rain, etc.)
8) What would total weight savings be for full kit (Windshield, doors, rear hatch)?
9) Do you offer a kit for the t-tops? If not, do you know of anyone who does?
Thank you very much for your assistance, and I hopefully will be doing business with you folks in the near future.
Sincerely,
- Matt

I'll let you guys know what they say. This could be very interesting....

A VFN bolt on hood and rear hatch with this speedglass would save over 110 pounds
That is a nice savings for the guys looking to lighten as much as possible

All the Lexan we install is tinted on all the windows except the windshield. The stuff that Martel sells AND every other company is not a direct fit. You will have to trim it to fit. This also will not work in roll up windows unless its all the way up or down. It doesnt have the rigidity like glass.

Well, here is what I got back form my e-mail:
***********************************************
1) Is it tintable?
A. It can be ordered as a smoked glass estimated at an additional $25
per side window and $45 per front or rear glass.
2) Is it streetable/street legal?
A. It would be best to check with your local Department of Motor
Vehicles. In most cases the rear glass and quarter windows would be OK.
The door windows and windshield would not be legal.
3) Would doing the windshield affect structural integrity?
A. No
4) Would there be a large increase in road noise?
A. Never had this question. We do not know.
5) Aside from touching it, is it obvious that it is not glass?
A. In most cases no.
6) If I purchased side door glass, would it still be able to roll the
windows up and down (power windows, if it matters)?
A. These are not designed to fit the OE hardware and to be used in this
way.
7) What thickness would you recommend for my application? (please bear
in mind that weight savings is key, so thinner = better, but this car
has to be able to drive in wind, rain, etc.)
A. 3/16" would be the closest to OEM.
8) What would total weight savings be for full kit (Windshield, doors,
rear hatch)?
A. Percy's estimates the weight savings with the 3/16" glass kit to be
approximately 65-70 lbs.
9) Do you offer a kit for the t-tops? If not, do you know of anyone who
does?
A. No T-Top kit is offered. Not sure who may make anything.

Madman do you sell a direct fit rear hatch glass? Do I need to run supports with it, or does it sit like OEM? The rear hatch lexan will save around 30# it sounds like?
